yeah, mine's better, though it's best to jump on the mail-in-rebates, you have $48 saved between the combo deals and the mail-in-rebates. good stuff
e.g. paying the full price for that CX430 is a crappy deal, it's twice as expensive. might as well add a bit more money and get a very good psu
if you're paying the full price for the GTX 750 Ti, $150 instead of $130, then looking at AMD's R9 270 becomes much more interesting all of a sudden (even more so if you get a good PSU).

I'll come back when i get my last check then(probably monday or maybe tomorrow if im lucky) and check the rebates out, maybe my build can be adjusted if i miss them.

I'm a bit skeptical about those linked builds though
PCMR is kinda awkwardly between random people buying hardware and actual knowledge like ocn

Okay going to order the parts for this : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/p8RFCJ when i get back from town in a bit, are the rebates and such still good or does it need to be adjusted ?

Everything is fine, you even have a few more parts that are in mail-in-rebate now. The single 4 Gb RAM kits that were originally there aren't in promo anymore, however you have a 2x4 Gb which is, so this becomes slightly better, I guess:

What is your budget?
Money, idk.. 1000$? I'm poor but if I have to pay I'll do it
What is your monitor's native resolution?
1920*1080
What games do you intend to play on this computer? What settings?
CS:GO and SC2, at preferably good framerates and medium settings
What do you intend to use the computer for besides gaming?
Some matlab and some movie watching
Do you intend to overclock?
Perhaps, I don't like case modding and cooling and stuff but if it's easy I can consider it
Do you intend to do SLI / Crossfire? Do you need an operating system? Do you need a monitor or any other peripherals and is this part of your budget? If you have any requirements or brand preferences, please specify.
Nope
What country will you be buying your parts in?
Sweden
If you have any retailer preferences, please specify.
Rather not a suspicious small shop, otherwise nope

Just to note on those 15w broadwell CPU's - there is a guy on OCN reporting power usage for haswell dual core~
Yea i'm measuring from the wall socket with a good power meter.
It's set to 1.3V now in BIOS and 1.280V via sensors!
My Pentium G3420 @ 3.2GHz has turned speed step off and running at a constant voltage of 0.870V; so the VCCIN is still 0.410V higher =)
Prime95 smallFFT is now running at 30W total power from the wall socket
0.87vcore (i dont think that's abnormal for 3.2ghz.. i've done 3.0 @0.9, at least, without any testing) and minimal input voltage to stay stable, without avx instructions prime/linpack doesn't really use more power than video encoding or cinebench (as opposed to the avx2 enabled chips where it can use 1.5x or even 2x as much power)
some very interesting perspective; i asked for a pic but it's quite plausible.
Intel quoted same performance on 30% less power for broadwell over haswell, which is a ~43% increase in performance/watt and perf/watt obviously increases falling away from 4ghz towards 3ghz and probably lower

Need urgent help plz!
My pc doesnt work all of a sudden ...
I turned off the psu switch. hit the power button to let left over electricity run through. (pc turned on for like 1 second)
took of rear stock case fan to swap it out, swapped HDD cage to 1 slot lower (to be in an open area instead of hitting the top of cage)
and tried turnning it on.
PC turns on, fans spin, GPU light comes on and everything, but monitor says theres no signal?? !!?
I also have a hdmi to dvi, so i tried using that, still says no signal.
what happened??
(i also posted this over at OCN, many help welcome please !)

Reset/clear cmos, if that fails unplug power, drain it (pc on button held for a few sec) and reseat gpu, check monitor wire etc
|
how do i reset/clear cmos??
and as for reseating gpu i have a h81m p33 mobo and it has only 1 gpu slot.
also to drain it, do i just unplug everything and turn the psu switch off as well?
P.S. im literally sitting here hitting refresh every 5 seconds, im kinda freaking out atm.
also, to reset/clear cmos, do i have to unplug everthing and have power switch off?

To clear the CMOS:
Turn off all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Remove the computer cover. Locate the battery on the board. With a medium flat-bladed screwdriver, gently pry the battery free from its connector. Leave the battery out for 10 - 15 minutes, for the CMOS to lose the settings.

I should probably add that you need to unplug it first and de-static yourself so that you don't electrocute yourself/zap the board.

someone told me to touch the JBAT1 on my mobo to reset cmos.
i touched it with a screw driver. same problem still. (is it possible i touched it wrong? or is it hard to not touch it right?)
pc turns on and everything still, fan spin , lights turn on, (from gpu and such) but still monitor says no signal
|
@cyro, i also unplugged it from psu, switched it off, and held power button on case for 20 sec
still same problem.
im starting to freak out................
is it possible i accidently messed up the gpu somehow and it died?
i mean the fans still spin on it though
EDIT : im ganna go to bed for now. ill check out the answers when i wake up.

but the GPU's fan still spins and everything??
however
i removed the GPU and and plugged a dvi to hdmi to my motherboard. and it works.
i go to the screen to
"fix windows repair (recommended ) " [start up repair something like that] "start windows normally"
does thsi mean my GPU is dead?? how come the fans spin and it lights up and everything??
