I don't really know how else you can test used components. You can't really know if someone ran their CPU at super high voltage for example (which could impact the remaining lifespan).

But let's be real here, if you don't know this stuff than you are basically 100% relying on the buyer not fucking you over. I probably wouldn't recommend using prime 95 or IBT to anyone who isn't very experienced as those can do some real damage to the hardware if run improperly. Heaven Unigine and Valley are pretty nice tests. You could also try benchmarks like 3D Mark 11 or PCMark.

my budget is around 1000$. The current monitor i'm using is old samsung one ( i use 1024x768 res), but i would like to buy a new one if possible (if i can great, if not i'd rather leave old monitor and get better parts for that money). Intened to play mostly games that are more cpu intensive (like cs and sc), but gaming isn't primarily my goal here. I don't intend to overclock since i always had bad luck with it (kinda). I also plan to buy mechanical keyboard along with it (it's in the budget) so any suggestion here is also very welcome (brown switches is what i'm looking for and possibly background light + shipping to croatia). I plan to buy everything in croatia, but if smtgh is cheaper somewhere and they deliver to croatia i'll buy it there. Thank you in advance.

I'm looking for parts in that value because probably 99% suggested can be bought here and if something can't be then i'm willing to order from ebay/amazon/whatever :D The problem that Cyro mentioned is this: You translate the 6000 kn into 1000 USD. Where I'm from, if I'm looking at 1000 USD parts, I would actually pay about 1000 EUR for those parts. If those 1000 EUR are translated back to HRK, it probably ends up at 8000 kn?

I have no idea where to buy mechanical keyboards from in Europe, but I'm assuming the cost there for something backlit is say 150 euros or so (1150 kn). Some cheaper models may or may not be available, I'm thinking. Windows OEM license is say 75 euros. Add say 125 euros for a monitor on the low end. So that is almost half the budget. Getting PC components shipped from Germany is almost always cheapest. I think mindfactory ships for 30 euros. Here is a reasonable build for the rest of the money. There are few things i don't need (windows, dvd burner and i think i'll give up on monitor) so i might put it into another parts. And seeing these prices makes me wanna cry (add ~30€ for almost all items when i'm buying them here). Thank you once again, it was very helpful ![]()

Also -- for Fraps-ing or streaming, can an AMD FX-4100 (1st gen) hold up? I should probably upgrade this too huh.
