The heatsink is already upgraded to Thermalright True Spirit 120M. It should be fine.
Now I can get another SSD for this thing for some RAID. Excited!
Thanks again!

Your 760 should easily fit in there. im not talking about the clearance tho. im saying that the PCI slot where the gpu goes into seems a bit to high up closer to the CPU and furthur away from the rear of the case. but ill just have to wait and see.

my mobo doesnt have a 3.0 inside, only 2.0 so i need a 3.0 to 2.0 adapter. what is that item called? when i look for it, it only brings up items for the rear and front ports isntead of the internal ports. (like the 4 pins stuff)

Also don't over think, there's no reason whatsoever that you couldn't put a 760 on an H81 motherboard in a 200R. You'll be FINE. :p @Greg; hf

Processor: Intel Core i5 4570 Motherboard: ASRock H81M-HDS Memory: G.Skill 8 GB Video Card: Radeon HD 6770 (from my old PC, will replace it with something better once I can afford it) Case: Fractal Core 1000 Power Supply: 550W XFX Pro Core Edition Storage: Samsung 120GB SSD (+ a 64GB one from my old PC) Cost: about €450 in total, can't go much higher than that Does this look good/okay? Anything obvious I'm missing? Thanks a lot in advance.

For example the CX430 is currently at $20 after mail in rebate at micro center: http://www.microcenter.com/product/399979/Builder_Series_CX430_430_Watt_ATX_12V_Power_Supply or antenc neo eco at $43 after mail in rebate: http://us.ncix.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=86280&vpn=NEO ECO 520C&manufacture=Antec&promoid=1413 @IMKR: oops my bad then

Anything obvious I'm missing? Thanks a lot in advance. Thats pretty similar to what I built when I was going for a price/performance $500 rig. As you're aware that Gfx will wan an upgrade, I know in the US the Gfx deals suck after black Friday, no idea about Europe. One thin to note is that the psi you selected is a rebranded seasonic, which is a good thing. Other than that I assume the ram and mobo arethe cheapest 8gb and h81 around you, so that's fine. So yea, looks good for your price range

Actually, it's more about that board being low end even for H81. Make sure you won't be needing more expansion cards in general or more than four drives. Also, take another look at the Core 1000's internal layout and make sure you're fine with not being able to fit a 3.5" drive natively if you're using two 2.5" mounting slots. IIRC.

It would look ugly at the back. You would have to leave one of those panels of the expansion slots open to get the cables out. Anyhow, do you really use your case front ports that much? Nobody says you need to hook everything up that's available. Also, at those kinds of prices... man, you can just buy a PCIe card that has an actual USB3 header and a couple more USB3 ports out back for less than $20 or so. Then again, that'd fill every expansion slot in that motherboard.

( i use flash drives alot due to school) although i guess i can just leave it alone on my case and just use the flash drive with my laptop my motherboard is a H81 p33, im not sure how much expansion slot it has, but i think its limited. also what are these things On December 16 2013 06:28 Myrmidon wrote:you can just buy a PCIe card that has an actual USB3 header and a couple more USB3 ports out back for less than $20 or so

It would go into that one short expansion card slot made out of black plastic you have on your motherboard.

I made a post a while ago comparing all the H81 boards (that were available at the time) with the conclusion that the ASRock H81M was the best value (~$60)(ALC 898, 5fan headers, USB3 header, better Networking) and the ASRock H81M-HDS was the cheapest you would want to buy (~$52)(USB3 Header). Name thee so I can shame shame shame them.
