mini, wired. no bluetooth. good bass . best bang for your buck. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10823&cs_id=1082301&p_id=8595&seq=1&format=2
However, when compared to what's out there for bluetooth speakers on the market right now, (which go from $30 - $300), the above speaker is not amazing quality. That being said, it still is amazing quality. I'd pick up one of the above no matter what. it's great to have in a second location, to put in your pocket, or share with a friend or family member, etc. it's just so cheap and good.
antec (a.m.p) SP1 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875980031http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875980031 http://www.amazon.com/m-p-Portable-Bluetooth-Speaker-Black/dp/B009CP9A8Whttp://www.amazon.com/m-p-Portable-Bluetooth-Speaker-Black/dp/B009CP9A8W is what i'm looking at right now. reviews for sound quality is great. they say it's better than the Jambox.
The jambox, (two sizes, normal and "big",) http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=jambox i've heard and it has huge sound, great volume. amazing. But the consensus including my own input, is that the sound quality isn't as crisp, but more muffled in quality. If you can find one for a deal less than $100,, go for it. There are a lot of competitors in the market with better and better products. jambox is one of the pioneers, but first isn't always best.
I've also tried the AUVIO (smallest one, which is much bigger than the mini non-bluetooth monoprice speaker) http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=16995766 on sale for 50 + tax. this is pretty good too, but the lows distort when it gets loud, like the jambox does. I also feel like the bass isn't as good. It is also not the best dimensions. Most other speakers in this physical size and quality are thinner and can fit in your pocket. With this speaker, i've had the software just not work for calls. But mine could be a fluke or that i don't have some software setting. in 2 weeks of use, i also started getting chirping. It's a decent deal for $50 + tax, but with better shopping around, im sure u could find a better quality one for a similar price. I plan to return it and get the SP1 or something else.
beats pill is very expensive but has amazing sound. jambox is kind of in a losing position in terms of price and quality for their products. either go high quality for a high price, or get something that is good enough for you at a lower price (around $50).
