Need at least a Phenom II x3 to be able to play and stream at the same time.

I really want to use this program, but it crashes after streaming for more than about 45 minutes.

Seriously, use this one folks. http://www.twitch.tv/medrea/b/33231116745 FPS stream Diablo 3. CPU is an i5-2500k @ 4.0 ghz. 20 down/ 10 up connection.
Ive got some 1080p60 VOD's of sc2 that go on for minutes with no frame drops (need to drop to 45-50fps for 100% solid) but still runs great (i7 950, 3.84ghz), you can push pretty far up on resolution/fps especially if you use superfast preset, im more concerned about performance hits, gonna do some FFsplit testing now, not with diablo though, i love the game but it performs awfully with or without any kind of capture in my experience, stutters everywhere.
Initial results with Torchlight 2 demo - Works great, 1080p50@superfast on 3 cores (+ht) but the game is pulled from ~470fps to the very low 200's from 60fps capture. Basically no reason to use over xsplit for performance reasons in this case.
Gotta say though for a CPU bound game this is pretty funny to look at http://i.imgur.com/iQlMk.png

My time then to ask for recommendations, specs in spoiler. I am also clueless when it comes to understanding how computers work.

I wish there was some kind of thank you button on this forum. Thanks!

Your i5 is a dual core but it does have hyperthreading and a decent clock speed so 480p should be np. If 480 drops your frames too much, try 432p.

Heya, I have kindof a weird problem when trying to stream. Everytime I start the stream it runs fine for about 4-5 minutes then starts to get extremely choppy no matter what my settings are in FFsplit. My computer and internet should be able to handle it perfectly but I can't seem to find out what the problem is. Here is an example.
My current specs are: i5 2500k @4.5ghz HD7970 @ 1125/1575 mhz 8gb 1333mhz DDR3 Ram 7-7-7-21 1080p Native Res
My internet: 25Mbs Down/ 4Mbs Up
Current FFsplit settings: BR: 2700 Encode: Faster Res: 720p fps:30 Audio BR: 96 AC: Stereo

It will look better and wont impact your fps with that cpu

Temps are fine. I have an NH-D14 and very nice airflow in my case. CPU cores 1-4 @ 55-60C GPU @ 70C
And Kami thats not the problem. Stream gets uncontrollably choppy no matter what FFsplit settings I use.

For example. Here is my stream again with LgnKami's suggested settings. Bitrate 2700 Encoder: Default 720p @ 45fps
Still very choppy for no apparent reason.
Also ran HWiNFO64 in the background. Cpu temps topped out @45C with 82% usage.
*edit* I should note that I get no fps drop in game with the choppiness. I am running the game on Ultra with all CPU intensive settings turned to low except for Effects on ultra. I've also tried running all low settings but that also has no affect on the choppiness.

I dont know why i didnt think of this before but lower your bitrate also. 2700 is for a good 1080p stream. Lower your bitrate to 1500

Have you turned off the "enable windows aero" option?

I have areo off by default Risky.
Thank's so much Kami, worked like a charm.
