Me and some friends are wanting to start a show where we have all of us at a single location and have our 3-5 PCs all in one room. The problem we have is how to capture the video and audio from the computers to a single host PC where we will have a producer who selects whos PC is getting shown to the audience and swapping to cameras and running adds etc.
So the question is what is the best way to get several PCs hooked up together and stream/record a show. If there is anyone who know what goes on behind the scenes of any Tournaments or can point me in the right direction that would really help us all out.
The sort of thing we're aiming might look a little like this Project Lore Video. You can see a lot of their gear at 0:28. Which was a World of Warcraft Show which used multiple PCs and cameras but I would assume it's the same kind of setup for a lot of SC shows and Tournaments out there.
The first thing that I looked into was something like the Black Magic Intensity Pro which is a PCI-E card that I believe takes the HDMI from your PCs(running the game) Graphics Card to a 2nd computer(stream/capture pc) and from the 2nd PC you get whats happening on the gaming machine. With that being the case how would you do this for up to 5 computers and what hardware would be needed. I would assume a switchboard would be needed to bring it all together and instead of HDMI be using SDI?
Any and all help is much appreciated and like I said above if anyone know people who have a setup like this I would like to get in contact with them.
Thanks

You could get a HDMI switcher and use just a single capture card. I'd recommend the AverMedia Game Broadcaster HD over the intensity since it supports a larger color space and 1080p30. I haven't tried this method and it depends on how well the HDMI switcher interfaces with your capture card, but it seems like it would work. Audio might be trickier though.

I think they honestly just fraps'd the boss fights and synced it up with the audio and video from each of the players. From the video you linked.
What your wanting to do will be a little more complicated. Kinda like what R1CH said your going to need some kind of switcher with maybe even a board for ease of use and of course some kind of capture card. I found this http://www.amazon.com/5-port-switch-Remote-Control-1-out/dp/B000FHGONA it comes with a remote control. But not sure if it would be compatible with xpslit/ fme. ofc course you can have 1-5 cameras or webcams for inputs if your going to do face shots of the players/people in the room, these would just be directly plugged into the computer or you could find a switch as well. . And your going to need individual mics/ or one central mic that is able to pick up the voices from each player. You could use an audio mixer for this and have all the sound from the mics inputting into the box and outputting to your streaming computer.

I posted this on the Twitch.tv Forums and an Admin said its possible through VLC to stream the screen and do host it over LAN network from the 5 PCs and then pick it all up from the Host PC. If anyone can help me further it would be great. Im not to familiar with the streaming capabilities for desktop streaming with VLC.
Thanks a lot for your comments
Edit: By using an RTSP created from VLC you can put that into xsplit and have different scenes for each computer. The only problem is I dont know how to do this. So if anyone knows or can find a Tutorial to help me that would be great.
Thanks again.
