hello TL,
i was wondering if people had the same problem as me, and if it's possible to fix it.
I got a Asus 560 GTX-Ti graphics card. The card functions great, and i can run all games perfectly. The only thing bugging me, is the MINI HDMI slot.. there was a converter in the box, to go from normal hdmi, to mini, but that one broke in just a few days. then i got a new one, but the problem with the mini hdmi, is that it isnt stable atall. It can fall out, or just disconnect your screen, because the slot isnt tight enough. The same problem occurs with the Asus converter, that was in the box with the graphics card.

So i was wonder, if people had a fix for this. it's annoys me to death, when im playing, and my screen turns black for a few seconds, or the cable just falls off completly. I got no idea who's idea it was to put a MINI HDMI slot on there, instead of a normal HDMI slot. But i wouldnt recommend buying the Asus version of this card.
Hopefully someone can help me. Else i'll just put in a 2nd card, but then from MSI, just to fix this problem.
thx in advance,
kevin

HDMI is a shitty connector and that is one of the reasons. HDMI does not use any latches unlike DVI or DisplayPort so its not unsurprising that it slips out easily.
Can you use a HDMI <-> DVI adapter instead?

the problem is that it is a MINI hdmi. The normal hdmi slots are just good, and the cable wont slip out. i got no idea what there were thinking when they put on a mini hdmi instead of a normale 1.
and i could use a DVI cable, but can i get 1920*1080 resolution then?

Yes you can do 1920x1080 with single link DVI. Why didn't you try this in the first place?
Its latch-less so any amount of weight on the HDMI cable will pull it out. I assure you that the only reason why a full sized HDMI cable doesn't slip out is because there isn't an adapter tugging on it. And the reason why its a mini HDMI is because Asus uses a full slot exhaust design.

but thx for the tip gonna buy that convertor tomorrow! :D

I have a mini hdmi slot on my nvidia 570 and found a 16 foot hdmi to mini hdmi cable on amazon for around 5 bucks. Never had issues with it slipping or falling out either.
