Hey guys, I've read that there is no use to have an fps over 60 because the eye doesn't detect it. I get values of 240 fps on Medium settings on sc2 and somewhere around 150 fps on High. Is there any way to cap this fps at a certain amount?
My specs: I5 2400 HD6870 8gb ram

I have a 60hz tv and a 240hz tv. There is a big difference. I don't remember the thread, but there is one with sc2 ini settings. Use the search function.

just turn on Vsync in the grapics options page it caps the fps to 60-62 or 120 if you have 120hz monitor.

I'm really surprised your 2400 is getting such high FPS, even in the lategame?
Anyways, as said above, you can just turn on vsync.

Out of curiosity, why not run it on ultra if you can?

It's too "shiny." I feel that the game looks the most realistic in medium settings, hence I prefer medium.
Also, does vertical sync reduce the performance?

TV's only accept 60hz signals and upscale it to 120 or 240, the exception being 3d tv's that take 120hz signals (even if they're 240hz panels) so having a framecap over 60 doesn't do anything.
frameratecapglue=30 frameratecap=60
Add those to your varibales file in your documents/starcraft ii folder. You can change them to whatever you want to cap at.

Vertical sync introduces additional input lag to your setup. I wouldn't recommend it.

Add this line to the end frameratecap=120
I find if you add a cap of 60 to 60 hz monitors motions arent very fluid. At 120hz they are perfectly fluid. Anywhere in between decreases the stutter in the way you might imagine (framerate cap is not the same as Vsync, otherwise we would cap out at 60)
I would not advise Vsync since SC2 is very competitive.

I have this problem as well. My computer is way too good for the game, and I get sometimes over 300 fps at medium settings. Is there any other way than changing frameratecap, to make the game run worse?

Mine bitcoins with your spare power.

Why would you want to lower the fps even? Rofl. I can easily notice wheter I play on 100 or 250 fps.

Unless you have a 120hz monitor. No you cant. Tearing starts to become unnoticeable at about 90.
And triple buffering can be used to eliminate it almost entirely so anything above the refresh rate of the monitor is unnoticeable.
