Hello TL
I recently installed the Asus P5G41T-M LX Intel G41 (Socket 775) DDR3 Motherboard, along with 8GB of RAM.
Heres the mobo:

Anyways I'm having problems with audio, when I click on sound in the bottom right corner there is some audio output.

I've installed audio drivers from asus as well as drivers for my graphics card. Ive set speakers as default device, however I don't think these are my external speakers because my PC doesn't recognise when I've unplugged them.

My system specs are:
8GB DDR3 RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 TI Twin Frozr Intel Q8200 2.34 ghz cpu Windows 7 (64 bit) Asus P5G41T-M LX Intel G41 Motherboard
Things I've tried:
-Installing drivers for GPU and audio -Plugging in HD audio and AC 97 internal connectors on mobo (and changing settings in BIOS accordingly)
EDIT - I can get audio using a usb device
I'll edit OP with any additional info required, thankyou!

Have you looked in the realtek program? (not sure what it's called in english)
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/XxfSu.png) If you the sound is muted for the speakers (the red circle) the settings you posted would still look the same but the sound would be muted. Have you tried with a headset from the same outlet?
Edit: Nevermind I'm stupid. If you had that muted you'd see it in the mixer as well. Not sure what else you can try.

you can try disabling all the audio outputs that you arent using. you can also try a connecting into a different audio jack, and right clicking the audio jack ( in the realtek as pictured above) and retasking it to your desired output.

None of the outputs are selected because im currently using usb headphones which I found out worked last night.
Ive tried disabling and uninstalling other outputs, they just reinstalled drivers when PC restarting and everything stayed the same.

I don't know if you did, but generally it's a good idea to re-install Windows after changing motherboard model. At least, I'm assuming that you changed model, since you didn't specify your old motherboard.
There may be a solution for fixing the audio without re-installing, but unfortunately I don't know it. Otherwise you'd just have to re-install Windows, which I'd recommend either way.

Is your frontpanel audio connected properly? If not, or not connected at all, that might make it belive that you're using headphones.
