Battlefield 3 DirectX Crash Problem

YumYumGranola Canada346 Posts February 08 2012 05:38 GMT #1 Hello, I had an issue with BF3 and was wondering if anybody had a similar problem and hopefully a solution. Basically BF3 crashes about 60% of the time while I'm joining a server, and 100% of the time when I minimize the game (single and multi-player). The error message that pops up says that there's an issue with DirectX: I'm running off a Radeon 5770 graphics card and Intel i7 2.8GHz quad core processor, 8.0 GB memory. Since I started having this problem I've updated all of my drivers and DirectX and re-installed Battlefield 3 multiple times with absolutely no improvement. Fortunately it's not a deal-breaker since I can usually get into the game if I try a couple times, but not being able to minimize without the game crashing is really annoying. Is there anything else I can do to maybe make this better? Has anybody had a similar problem and successfully resolved it? Thanks!

TheToast United States4808 Posts February 08 2012 14:43 GMT #2 This is an issue with Battlefield 3, basically the error is saying the application is calling for an API (code) that it shouldn't be. Have you patched BF 3? Have you checked any faqs to see if it is a known issue with your card? Some quick googling reviels that a lot of people with ambx speaker systems are having problems. Some are saying running in compatibility mode for XP or Vista SP2 solves the issue.
