corsair is pretty good, Seasonic, any BeQuiet PSU is awesome aswell. 500W would be pretty much overkill right now, but also puts you really on the safe side for the future.
Oh and that Thermaltake should be fine

|
Enlighten me please, what is bad about the Thermaltake?
|
Because it's an old HEC.
If you really really need to purchase from Amazon than just purchase a Corsair CX430 or XFX Core Edition 450. Though I think its much smarter to purchase from Newegg as there's some decent deals around right now.

The HEC-built TR2 power supplies are ones to avoid. It's not the worst junk out there, but why bother with an inferior product that isn't built well and runs out of specification if you run it to its advertised limits? The newer 80 plus bronze TR2 units from FSP are okay, but overpriced to the point that nobody should bother.

Oh dear, so that's one of those OEM PSUs which gets a brand on it? Guess I need to search for a list of those "behind the brand" manufacturers
|
So should I get the one shikyo posted? No one has reviewed it on amazon.. Or the corsair one?
|
There are only a few power supply manufacturers.. Seasonic, FSP, Super Flower, Enermax, Delta, and CWT are some.
Corsair, Antec, XFX, BeQuiet are all rebranded Seasonic, FSP, Super Flower, Delta, CWT, etc.

If you want consumer reviews than just look at Newegg. It's either going to be "its dead" or "it works" ....
It's a cut down Seasonic S12II so yes its a good unit, here's a jonnyguru review of the original unit: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=224

BeQuiet isn't different than any other brand. They just put their name on slightly modified FSP, Seasonic, and HEC units.
|
Then that article states wrong facts doesnt it? Because it actually comfirmes what I knew so far
|
Tomshardware = terrible website
It's a known fact that both Antec and Corsair do not design. All of their units are slightly modified variants or completely identical to that of a Seasonic, CWT, Delta, etc. Be Quiet is no different.
