Lately I've been having an issue where after being left idle for a long time (between me going to bed and coming back from work) my USB ports seem to go to "sleep". My mouse, keyboard, iPod USB connector, and external hard drive all stop completely (don't have any other devices plugged in). Unplugging and plugging them back in does nothing, as does trying different ports on both the front and back of the case. Restarting the computer fixes the problem. My monitors and speakers are still completely functional.
I've gone through the various power saving options, but none of them look like they would cause this. I can't think of any changes I've made recently to anything, hardware or software-wise. Microsoft Security Essentials and Spybot S&D aren't picking anything up. I've tried resetting CMOS (actually, I just accidentally hit the button while moving devices around >.>), but that didn't change anything. What gives?
