I recommend the Rosewill keyboards to anyone. I'm using a RK-9000 right now with Cherry MX Blue switches and I'm loving it. Took off my noise-cancelling headset to enjoy it's full clicking glory :D

Hi guys, I read the thread but still can't decide.

I wan't to buy a mechanical keyboard, I have around 80€ to spend. I can't decide between the steelseries 6gv2 and the razor darkwidow. I like the fact that the blackwidow has some macro keys at the left (it can always be usefull), but the 6gv2 and steelseries seems to be more reliable, also the 6gv2 is smaller, i like that.

Could someone help me decide or propose something else for the same price (or less) ?

Regarding the Macro Keys on the Blackwidow: Imo they're placed pretty awkwardly. I'm a 10 finger typist and when I starteted to type my left hand orientied itself via the macro keys cause they're like 2mm away from the other keys. Got a keycap puller and removed them asap, dunno what to use them for anyway.

Otherwise I'm quite happy with the Blackwidow (got it for like 55€ in Germany)

I'd try a Blackwidow and a 6gv2 in a store to check which switch type you prefer and buy acording to that.

Clicky & tactile 50g actuation, nkro ps/2 $20 shipping to europe
If you lived in US you can get it for roughly $60 shipped as well.
PCHOME $60 shipped green alps.

ordered one myself from http://tigerimports.net/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=11531

Strange when I check shipping to europe its not 20$ but 46$, but thats maybe for Poland (hardly Europe )

Damn Ducky DK9000 G2 MX Brown with PBT keys, ASCII 104 keys layout looks epic only problem is that they are not laser etched and/or dye filled. 136$ + 46$ shipping

OCN edition DK9008 G2 MX Brown had PBT keys, 104+4 layout and keys was laser etched 140$ + 35$ shipping (tankguys) but they are out of stock

PChome has the $20 shipping, the tigerimports has $46, if your gonna get a keyboard as your first I would recommend this over the blackwidow. People on geekhack give it good reviews. Its no filco but still a great board. Can't wait til i get mine.

i myself just bought a Rosewill rk9000 red switch and i am enjoying every single moment of typing. Need to get used to this new typing feel though ><

Good alternative if you don't want to spend too much on a Filco.

hey guys im about to buy a filco majestouch 2 in hong kong maybe...

can someone tell me which one is mx blue and which one is mx brown on this site?

http://www.filco.com.tw/product.php?page_id=23&product_categories_id=2&page=1

茶軸 / 青軸 / 黑軸 which is which?

i know 黑軸 is mx black but it say tactile feel in the descript dont know what 茶軸 and 青軸 are since they both also say tactile feel in the descrip. so most likely they are brown and blue but which is which?

kinda sad since i know how to speak cantonese but can only read some words.

i need to know which one is which so i can tell the guy at the shop which one i want...(i dont know if i want brown or blue yet but i hope they have a sample i can press)

茶軸 = tea = brown
青軸 = green/blue = blue
黑軸 = black

You can buy Ducky pretty cheap in Hong Kong by the way.

Cherry has a selfbranded keyboard line for all switches.

These are easily the best keyboards I ever owned (apart from my Amiga and C64 but these hardly count).

plus It looks like an old terminal keyboard (80´s kid heaven)

But since i smoke cigs at my desk I have never tried an option over 40 €

As far as I can see the only thing that could could make them less desirable is the space to the F keys(but then only for playing starcraft)

Surprised they do not get mentioned more often in this thread. At least as an alternative.

Source: I own the black switch version at home and the one with white switches at work

a longtime lurker

PS: Thanks to this thread I found out why the new keyboards suck so much. At least for me
Thanks TL

PPS: At least at the amazon EU site they list 5 different versions of this (switches) only the actual switch designation is hidden in the description at different points in the text

omg dude your my savior! I think Im gonna go for Ducky DK9000 G2 MX Brown

There is only one thing I need to figure out how big difference in quality and wearing off is between keys made from ABS and PBT, because price is 20$ more for PBT thats quite a lot of money just for different type of plastic that caps are made of... Someone here got experience with both types and can give me some tips about it?

Yeah that would have been my second choice, but I think I'd prefer the tactile bump of the Cherry Blues over the Reds. But if I were to get another mechanical kb down the line (which I probably won't for several years, if the prices stay around $100 or so), it would probably be a Cherry MX Red

The cherry G80 line is with MX mechanical switches. the linked one at amazon has cherry mx blues according to its 5 digit serial number. G80-3000 usually come with black / clear / blue switches and are 2kro but their matrix is ok around wqersadf , so its np to play fps or whatever. the description on amazon is just plain wrong so dont pay attention to what it claims.

ty guys

Most people recommend browns for SC, alot of pros use blacks though (steelseries). I love my blues though, no problems with doubletapping.
So you can use any, decide which you will like.

Yep, I got one back in September when they first started selling them again and it's great. It's held up really well and is now easily my favourite keyboard.
