I can't decide between the steelseries 6gv2 and the razor darkwidow. I like the fact that the blackwidow has some macro keys at the left (it can always be usefull), but the 6gv2 and steelseries seems to be more reliable, also the 6gv2 is smaller, i like that. Could someone help me decide or propose something else for the same price (or less) ? Regarding the Macro Keys on the Blackwidow: Imo they're placed pretty awkwardly. I'm a 10 finger typist and when I starteted to type my left hand orientied itself via the macro keys cause they're like 2mm away from the other keys. Got a keycap puller and removed them asap, dunno what to use them for anyway. Otherwise I'm quite happy with the Blackwidow (got it for like 55€ in Germany) I'd try a Blackwidow and a 6gv2 in a store to check which switch type you prefer and buy acording to that.

People on geekhack give it good reviews. Its no filco but still a great board. These are easily the best keyboards I ever owned (apart from my Amiga and C64 but these hardly count). plus It looks like an old terminal keyboard (80´s kid heaven) But since i smoke cigs at my desk I have never tried an option over 40 € As far as I can see the only thing that could could make them less desirable is the space to the F keys(but then only for playing starcraft) Surprised they do not get mentioned more often in this thread. At least as an alternative. Source: I own the black switch version at home and the one with white switches at work a longtime lurker PS: Thanks to this thread I found out why the new keyboards suck so much. At least for me Thanks TL PPS: At least at the amazon EU site they list 5 different versions of this (switches) only the actual switch designation is hidden in the description at different points in the text

I think Im gonna go for Ducky DK9000 G2 MX Brown There is only one thing I need to figure out how big difference in quality and wearing off is between keys made from ABS and PBT, because price is 20$ more for PBT thats quite a lot of money just for different type of plastic that caps are made of... Someone here got experience with both types and can give me some tips about it?

Yeah that would have been my second choice, but I think I'd prefer the tactile bump of the Cherry Blues over the Reds. But if I were to get another mechanical kb down the line (which I probably won't for several years, if the prices stay around $100 or so), it would probably be a Cherry MX Red ![]()

The cherry G80 line is with MX mechanical switches. the linked one at amazon has cherry mx blues according to its 5 digit serial number. G80-3000 usually come with black / clear / blue switches and are 2kro but their matrix is ok around wqersadf , so its np to play fps or whatever. the description on amazon is just plain wrong so dont pay attention to what it claims.
