well the switches are blue and those are generally thought of as a typing switch instead of a gaming one. It's all personal preference though in the end so i'm not sure what kind of advice you're looking for.

Razer keyboards have the worst quality out of all the major brands so you could consider that as a negative

About the black widow, this is my first mechanical keyboard and this is how I feel about it:

It's great for typing and playing StarCraft. It's a dream to type on and I've had no issues with "bad quality" as many people claim that they have had. It's kinda oddly small for a keyboard, but I consider this a positive after coming off of a laptop keyboard for the last year or 2. It's very clicky and has a very nice response and feel to it. I don't really ever feel like I'm pressing a cheap or weak key that might break off if I type on it too hard or too quickly.

I don't have the back lit version, although I'm sure it's pretty nice. I like it overall and I'm glad that I invested the $80 into it. It's not the best keyboard ever, but it's far from the worst and I can proudly say that I own it. It really comes down to preference though and some people don't like the way that it feels. Hope you find a keyboard that you like

Both are good choices.

Okay, good to know there are no huge quality differences, thanks

Europeans are so screwed, any kind of fancy mechanical keyboards (except razer and steelseries) are very overpriced... if f.e Filcos in US cost 100$ in Eu they cost 100£ or 120€+ so it like double the price, also getting one from us to eu cost at least 50$...

Im still looking for some cheap Ducky in Europe or something and I found 1 tenkeyless on auction for 120$ but with blue switches...

eh filcos arent 100 in us they are way more, not to mention that in 120e theres tax included so in reality its more like 100€.

also the qpad mk-50 keyboard is just 79€

I know they are more that was just an example on how bad prices are in eu... also you cant compare qpad to filco, das, Leopold or even Ducky

Um sure I can. And I don't see how that was an example of anything.

Speaking of terrible prices in europe, did you know that Topres are 169€ over here? Now guess what they cost in the US.

thats about right for used T_T;;; New hhk are like 270 euros T_T and type "S" are 375 euros -_-... If you can get a hhkb that is slightly used for less than $250 usd your getting a good deal.

Yes well "in Europe" might be a bit exaggerated - not in all Europe. In France a Topre is 250 euros (with taxes and shipping) minimum, and the only place to buy them is TheKeyboardCo in the UK. You really get a sweet deal in Finland !
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well they get it from someone else =P so they shouldnt be the only store with those prices. Also it's the same keyboard with different keycaps so it's really weird if no one else has those for similiar prices.

Either way <_<

Yep, I doubt you find any decent keyboard in affordable price in Europe. Not to mention Poland.
I've had SS 6G v2 for over 4 months, then, suddenly one of the switches stopped working. I've got my money back and ordered a Noppoo Choc Mini White with MX Brown. Pretty much perfect keyboard, exactly what I want: better keycaps, better switches (less fatigue for wrists/fingers), great look, probably overall better build quality, NKRO over USB (6kro is enough anyway). It only lacks a wristrest (7g has a good one imo)

You can get a Noppo Choc Mini with MX Black for ~95$ including shipment to Europe here - http://www.vendio.com/stores/E-sports-Gaming-equipments +pbt keycaps (not the abs crap) and some other gamer stuff

Although you might have to pay vat (23%)

It depends on the brand really and what country you live in. You can't generalize for the entire EU. Filco and Topre don't sell anywhere in Sweden so the price ends up being quite high at a similar level amasokin mentioned for france for a topre. You can however find decent prizes on 6gv2, qpad, and other less known brands. I also saw the new Corsair on sale during christmas so there are some options depending what country you live in.

Got my first mechanical keyboard a few weeks ago and wanted to give a special thanks to this thread, as it was quite helpful in helping me determine what I wanted.

Ended up with a Filco with MXBrowns. =) Very pleased with it thus far.

I wanted to point out that CM storm quickfire rapid pages are starting to pop up in US/CA sites and are available now or soon. I'm not sure about Europe. These are basically filco tenkeyless rebrands (same manufacturing) with some of their own implementations such as detachable cable and media keys. I have a quickfire with reds and I highly recommend the quickfire mechanicals for their high quality.

US:

CA:

NCIX

I think they're mainly MX blues right now but there are mx blues, browns, reds and blacks.

Just thought I'd take yet another opportunity to type with my brand-new and most beloved FILCO Majestouch 2 Ninja edition. Having experienced Cherry Blue switches with a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, I've found that Cherry Browns are way more my kind of switch. Being a Pianist I tend to like a certain amount of tactile response when pressing keys, whether it be on the piano or the keyboard.

The lettering being on the front of the keys was kind of hard for me to get accustomed to at first, but now that I've adjusted I'm even more in love with this amazing product. I also own a metallic blue standard FILCO Majestouch 2 with Cherry Browns (just like my Ninja one) but the regular enter key has stopped working.

Aside from sending the keyboard in to FILCO themselves to get a replacement, I opted to simply buy a new one first because I couldn't stand to not have this baby for any kind protracted period of time. My question is, should I opt to send my KB with the broken Enter key or is there some kind of keyboard repair place I can take it and have the switch fixed faster?

OMG! That's my baby right there! Metallic Blue FILCO with MXBrowns. I've been just mad about the keyboards even since. As mentioned above, the Enter key went out on my original Metallic blue one and I've been debating whether I should send it to FILCO (since I'm pretty sure that I didnt own it for a full year) or perhaps just seek out a local mech keyboard repair place of some kind...assuming they exist! I mean, the way I see it, the only thing better than one FILCO is two, right?

My current beauty. Like the website says, these things just make you want to type!
