I use to have blacks(6GV2 specifically) and I didn't like the stiffness of the keys. I switched to a leopold blue switch and I am so glad I did. They are so much lighter to press on especially if u have high apm in starcraft and I just love the sound of the keyboard. If you don't like the sound then go for the browns. They are more preferred for RTS gaming anyways.
Edit: read further down and found out that you purchased Red keys. Plz let me know as well . Hope you enjoy your purchase. I certainly did for my Leopolds!!!

Can't see why anyone would say what you just said if they had tried one...
Considering how much some people spend on components they don't need and have use for (overkill gpu, wrong cpu etc), spending that money on something you are actually usefull are probably a better idea.
MX Black Switches Water Proof (it has sink holes for spilled beverages) Detachable Numpad (can reattach on left side, or simply turn into TKL keyboard) Macro buttons, detacheable macro panel
Seem to have all the features you can ever think of with the exception of backlights for the keys.
Downside is kind of bulky, the casing looks cheap.

Way to contribute to the thread, have you used a mechanical keyboard before? There's a reason this thread is long and there's a reason they sell, its not a gimmick.

Im liking the leopold.. but maybe thats just because of the price. Any suggestions?
I just received my leopold red cherry today and I love it. Shipping would most likely be cheaper for you since you live in the US, but since I live in Souther Ontario, Canada I had to pay an extra $22 to local post office for custom fees.
You'll end up paying just $150 something I believe. ( sorry couldn't resist from typing lots of useless stuffs )
EDIT: Less than $150 actually, since they dropped their prices.
Just a quick question, are there any keycaps like the ones on the Filco Ninja's (printed on the side) that are white? I've seen blank ones all over - so I'm just wondering.

I was thinking of getting the blank white keyboard and using the black keycaps to make a checkerboard pattern but I wasnt sure if it would work.
Spacebar won't work, as others have pointed out. Another small gotcha is that the Leopold's scroll lock and caps lock caps keys have clear windows to let the LEDs shine through. The WASD keys don't have this window.
There is a guy on geekhack that will mod a WASD spacebar to fit both the Leo and Filco-style keyboards, if you're interested. He did one for me and it fits perfectly. He also does caps and scroll locks.

Not that I know of, unless you buy a white Filco Ninja and swap out the keys, which gets pretty expensive.
I bought recently my first mechanical keyboard, razer black widow. Im very pleased and im wondernig, what is the difference between black widow and das ultimate, which is better and why? Im asking this, because next year a friend of mine can bring me das keyboard if i want. Thanks in advance !
