Looking for a keyboard to use with my first ever PC set up! So I need some recommendations however

I perfer Cherry MX Reds
Backlit keyboard would be nice but not 100% required

Games I play

Mostly Starcraft 2 competitively (planned)
Casually- LoL, H1Z1, Minecraft. L4D2

Is a Tenkeyless more recommended than a full keyboard? Need information and recommendations please and thanks!

(Also need a mouse, fingertip/claw grip, med/high sensetivity, to be used for SC2 competitively)

TKL is generally better imo if only for playing posture, helps to not have your hands cocked out wide. What is your budget for board and mouse?

Razer Blackwidow Tournament edition (2013, if you can find it) should do. Leopold FC660M could also be a nice board, but they're a little more expensive. ($99 on massdrop as we speak, and slightly smaller than TKL)

I'd need a budget. There's a mouse thread on TL for mice too, other people specialize in that. Without a budget, I'd say TKL is neat for space management and also having your mousehand closer to your keyboard. It's a more natural/ergonomic feeling and it actually helps. I have a full sized keyboard right now, but I have regrets!
You have more choices with a full board though.

Check all the big sellers:

Corsair
Razer
Ducky
Vortex (Sells 75% and 60% boards)
Leopold
CM storm
Das

The games you play are kind of irrelevant. In general, blue switches are meant for typing and reds/blacks are for ''gaming''. I currently use blues for both gaming and typing and like it, although have no further experience. Most keyboard manufacturers allow you to choose prior to buying it anyway.

Budget is $150, I was looking at the Filco Majestouch 2 , the CM Quickfire Rapid, and the Corsair k65 RGB

Guys need some advice - I was looking at purchasing a new keyboard, considering my Rosewill crapped out 3-4days ago(I would never recommend a Rosewill..) I was look at http://www.amazon.com/CM-Storm-QuickFire-Ultimate-Mechanical/dp/B00EJ8CHIM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top has anyone purchased and used this for SC, or other RTS games? Any feedback you heard about it ?

EDIT: Was looking at the red switch.

Have used, in the version I have the spacing is a bit funny for medium to larger hands, I had to pull my windows keys, could just be that I am really lazy, but it is a good board for the price.

Generally the CM quickfire used to be a really nice introduction to mechs. Not expensive, basic but good features, very sturdy and just good. I'd say it's a win. Also, Polt's sponsored by em

has anyone else had problems with mechanical keyboards when playing sc bw?
i cant go through control groups quickly without skipping a control group (one control group wont register)
problem is probably associated with key rollover or whatever but im nowhere near tech savvy enough to figure out what the problem is and how to fix it.
for anyone who didnt understand what im trying to say
if i press 1a2a3a4a5a6a7a
only 1a2a4a5a7a will register for example, depending on how fast i press the keys

This happened to me, but I never linked it to the keyboard :o I just assumed the game was just working badly on modern processors, as it mainly happened in windowed mode and way less in full screen.

On another note, I'm looking for a TKL keyboard with blue or green switches with fancy illuminations, ducky shine-like; so far I haven't found many other options aside from the coolermaster quickfire rapid i. Are there some I should consider that are available in europe? :D

it may not be the keyboard, but since the problem is related to keys not registering properly keyboard seems like the most obvious source of the problem

I love my Noppoo, as well. Good little board, bought it to use at work about a year ago and has been a solid little board. I don't think it is the best gaming board, but that is me.

Yeez, chill out a bit

Your problem with keys not registering could be anything. Maybe your keyboard just is crap. Maybe your computer and SC2 aren't best friends. Posting several times without any new information will certainly not get you any answers

I specifically bought a ps/2 compatible keyboard with 0nkro to avoid those issues; and i had none with it. My old razer keyboard on usb ate keys all of the time when holding two keys out of WASD, as well as when pressing 12345 really fast etc
