It has nothing to do with you using and typing on your keyboard so you can use it and hardpress the buttons as much as you like.
Its only when you might want to move it from your computer if you are going to travel somewhere really cause its a Mini USB cable thats detachable so you can remove the cable from the keyboard completely and thats what they were talking about.
Though they made a cool feature so you can put the cable in some grooves to not put a strain on it.
You will see when you get the board.
Btw Im typing this all from my QFR with reds and its a great buy really. Sturdy and wellmade. The keycaps is completely usable but I wanted some higher quality ones and got blank white PBT caps and now the keyboard is awesome to type on.

I take it back! I asked my friend who owns it and he said my 7g was way better. Sorry for the misinformation guys, but how come the cherry edition cost less than the regular edition? o.o

The regular one has black Cherry MX switches, the special has red. The red feel lighter than black, the spring in them is softer. There's no difference in quality.

Does anyone know where I can get a white TKL keyboard? I would prefer brown switches, but another switch might work as well. If anyone knows where I can get pink PBT key caps as well that would be great.

But I've heard it's a little hard to obtain outside Korea and Australia :/

I recall seeing a bunch of white filcos at keyboardco, amazon etc. Unfortunately they were all ansi so I didn't get one.
Theres also ducky shine 2 that comes in pink/white but there's no tkl version yet
Pink PBTs might be tricky tho, you'll have to dig deep for those.

Hey, What you think about the Ducky Shine 2 MX Black switch?

Good if you can find it, ducky shine 3 is on the way so shine 2 production has stopped. The 3 doesn't have any revolutionary features and is still a ways off so grab the 2 if you can.

I beg to differ. The led functions are pretty unique.

I agree the colour customisable spacebar and new modes are pretty cool but they don't really completely change the keyboard.
If you just want a backlit keyboard then get the 2. If you love backlit effects and a spacebar you can change then wait for the 3.

The blackwidow stealth is the only one that jumps to mind. I have heard the 2013 versions are much improved quality wise.

If you're getting a backlit you're spending extra money entirely for the led functions. Might as well get the most out of the excess you're paying for.

Yeah, that's a good point.

Bright side is secondhand Shine 2s and 1s will be cheaper.

After trying out my brother's IBM Model M keyboard which he found collecting dust at the back of an old wind tunnel I have become interested in mechanical keyboards.
The only gaming I do on a regular basis is Dota 2, and aside from that I do a fair bit of typing. From the OP I get the impression that I should be looking at a Brown mechanical keyboard.
I cannot find the OP-recommended 'Ducky 9008G2 ABS Keycaps' on Amazon UK, which will most likely be the place I buy this from. Any other suggestions? My budget is ideally about £80-90, but I'm not against £100 if it's a really good deal.

Many Ducky keyboards are at teraset.net

hey guys,
I hope you can help me. Well, two years ago I got the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Keyboard which was perfectly fine. But suddenly it stopped working and the warranty was already over. Now, I want to replace it. Actually, I really enjoyed the feeling off this keyboard, so I want something similar but preferably more durable. Is there a keyboard out-there, available in Germany, that feels similar typing on it but with better quality. Max price is about ~150Euro.
Thanks in adance!
I thought about buying this one: http://www.getdigital.de/products/Das_Keyboard_Model_S_Professional is this a good choice?

Hey, I´m living too in Germany! I buy now the Ducky Shine 2 at teraset.net but i think filco keyboards are good as well!

I recently ordered a white Leopold FC700R with blue switches, is anyone interested in me doing a review for it? I'm currently using a Ducky Shine 2 with red switches, which I can also do a short write-up on if anyone wants.
