People like TKL keyboards because it feels ergonomically correct than a full-sized keyboard when gaming. The QFR (Quickfire Rapid) has better build quality and has a gold usb connector that is detachable, whereas the Ducky2108 has a normal USB connector that is not detachable.

A shitty picture of my Quickfire Rapid MX Red with white Ducky keycaps (they were on sale so I thought why the hell not).

The F-keys are not in the right order number wise cus I wanted the media keys to be correct. Really dig these white keycaps. Also love the keyboard obviously.

By how much is the build quality better on QFR? :D

Cooler Master shipped fairly fast! Got my White body TK about an hour ago and looks gorgeous!
Here it is with my beloved Corsair K90:

It shipped so quickly by the time I got it the order status was still "awaiting shipment".
Thing feels pretty good. I think it was a good choice to try out browns over blues.

i hope i get mine soon then. i ordered yesterday! :D i've been waiting for this kb for what seems like forever and it's a huge bonus it's coming with the white shell

I have the blue o-rings. The landing feels somewhat mushy and the reduction in travel is noticeable. It feels alright together with the MX brown switches. I like the keyboard better with these o-rings, but I still wouldn't buy them again and would instead try the red 40A-L.
You know how the click of the blue MX switch is perfectly "sharp", and the brown MX switch in comparison feels as if it's dirty? Those blue 40A-R o-rings will change the landing somewhat like that. That may be why I feel that the o-rings fit with the brown switch and the keyboard is better with them.
Don't expect a totally silent keyboard. There will still be noise from hammering the keys. There's clatter when you let go of the keys and it's louder the faster you are. The o-rings can only do something about the landing when bottoming out.
|
Yeah thx. I have MX brown switches too, so I'll probably go for the red ones then. I mostly just care about the bottoming out, especially the spacebar which is really annoying for me.

I'm looking for a brown switch tenkeyless that is fairly light. Anyone have any recommendations?

o wow.
i had the CM Quickfire Pro in my cart before running through this thread and seeing that. unfortunately, the TK's missing keys are a dealbreaker for me, although I would be down for a Rapid. does anyone know if CM possibly has plans to extend th new beautiful white body to Pros or Rapids as well?
i will wait for you

Hmmm, Maybe its true that cherry mx reds are for gaming. I just notice i played a 40 minutes game, my fingers weren't that tired. Its felt like a 20 min game.

I don't really perceive a particular switch _the_ gaming switch, I've played fps games competitively with blues, topre switches, membrane and reds and honestly, there's no "gaming" switch, only a switch you prefer to others. For me it'll be white for sure.

I actually like the TK layout of being able to switch between the number pad and arrows/pg up.

Reds don't feel as stiff, that's really only thing I can describe right off the bat. I can't really tell any differences apart from the fact I like topre more than reds.

Hey guys, I've been reading a lot of not wonderful reviews about the blackwidow 2013, but my brother can get me a brand new one (either tournament or ultimate edition) for like 60€, which is a pretty good discount over the retail price of 140€.
Anyone who have already had/tried it, can tell me even if its not the best mechanial keyboard, worth the 60 €? Also, anyone knows if the ultimate has MX blue and the stealth MX brown? AFAIK is that way.
Thanks guys!

Its far, Far, FAR from the best mechanical board on the market (it might be one of the worst TBH), but I used a normal Blackwidow for 6 months and it was still a great experience and kicked the shit outta membrane board. If you can get the Ultimate for 60 euro, do it; that's a good price. Otherwise save your money. As someone who used a Blackwidow before going to another board (both MX Blues) I can say that the blues on the Blackwidow feel and sound different and not in a good way.

Thanks so much for the info man! I'm using a laptop keyboard at the moment, and I'm coding a lot so I'm ansious for a mechanical keyboard. If you say that for 60 euros is a good price and is that much better than a regular membrane board, I will go for it!
Thanks guys!
