I`ve got the kinzu also. The inbuilt acceleration and the inbuilt hard prediction cannot be turned off no matter what you try to do. However, the acceleration is hardly noticeable in starcraft, at least on 800 dpi.But if you have not, you should turn off the standard windows mouse acceleration by chaging some registry keys as Sachem posted above. The prediction is actually quite nice for quick diagonal movements, it`s not a big issue for your SC2 accuracy.
However, the 1600 dpi setting is emulated by just skipping pixels, that`s really bad.
Concerning the double-click problem: i had this issue right from the start, however, what worked for me was switching the polling rate from 500 hz back to 125hz. Since I did that, I have had no problems with the double-clicking.

it feels okay on those settings, though i have to have both the driver and sc2 mouse speed on max to make the mouse faster enough on 800DPI. and yeah 1600DPI is bugged,

wtf was SS thinking.

I bought the Kinzu a while a back and downloaded the drivers right away. In the drivers there's actually a check box where you can disable mouse acceleration or enable it.

As-if they think mouse acceleration is part of the next generation of top gamers. gtfo SS.
should have bought the Xai.
Maybe a fix someone posted...
"Install drivers, configure your mouse as you like. Uninstall drivers and you're mouse acceleration free"
People in the competetive CSS community have extensively tested the Xai and it seems it had 10% positive acceleration also with it disabled in the firmware. I can attest to the Xai feeling like it has minor accel. If you want a good mouse for a good price, Get the CM storm spawn. It's destroying the CSS scene right now, has the updated DA sensor apparently. I purchased one and it's great, cheap too. NCIX.com (Canada) has it for $35. Almost feels like a replacement for my DA and Xai tbh.
It's lighter than the Xai so you arent lugging around a deathadder, has a great claw grip for SC2.

It is known that the kinzu has one of the worst sensors in gaming mice. It has acceleration and heavy prediction.
Lots of mice have mouse acceleration, some more than others. The Steelseries Xai, Logitech g9x, g500, and g700 all have acceleration. All these mice are very popular. So avoid those if you don't want acceleration. You can do some registry edits and what not to get rid of the software based acceleration, but like Sachem pointed out, you can't get rid of sensor built acceleration.

Sorry about your mice problems, but if you researched a bit you would find Kinzu has hardware accel and thus no time or money wasted. I suggest looking at the MiCO or Abyssus for simple mice =)

But then today it just felt really bad, and so i did some research, and found this. http://faq.steelseries.com/questions/194/Does the Kinzu have mouse acceleration?basically my suspicions were right, the mouse has in built mouse acceleration (Its a gaming mouse with mouse acceleration? What the hell. honestly) So anyone i obviously want to turn this off, mouse acceleration is the most useless thing ever, especially for gaming. Does anyone have any experience with it? or know settings or programs that help out? or even a way to make it work in SC2, i can deal with acceleration out of game if it works in game. i REALLY like the mouse, everything about it is good, light weight, good size, buttons nice to click etc, just the acceleartion is troubling me EDIT: oh and im using a 23inch 1920 x 1080 LED monitor
Kinzu, Xai, G9x, g500. All examples of "gaming" mice with acceleration. It's sad to see but there is no way to disable acceleration on these mice. There is build in acceleration on the hardware level and no firmware can fix that. Mice like the Deathadder, CM storm spawn, IEM3.0, are examples of mice without acceleration and is why they are highly recommended especially within the CS community where low sensitivities are used and accel really impacts play (though DA 3.5g had a rough start with jitter but was fixed through firmware, the first gen 1800dpi one was flawless).
OP, if you want a cheap mouse, buy the CM storm spawn. $35 CAD at NCIX. It's similarly sized and weighted to the kinzu (though shaped for claw users) and contains no gimmicks, no accel. The mouse is currently exploding in the css community, as it's basically a lightweight claw oriented deathadder.
Steelseries always seems to do everything perfect when it comes to peripherals, but then they make some ridiculous choice with the most integral part of the product. Kinzu accel, Xai laser sensor, mech with blacks... kinda obnoxious really.
