I am interested in buying a QSenn/Samsung DT-35 but can't seem to find one anywhere. I'm not hooked on this idea , I just really like the checkered pattern. Does anyone know about other keyboards that are similar? Or possiably a way I could purchase the QSenn/Samsung DT-35

Found this English only version of the DT35.. comes with wrist rest

http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm/421677221-Qsenn-DT35-Gaming-Keyboard-English-Edition-Black-White-Color-available-Brand-NEW-in-box-and-Original-wholesalers.html

Anyone know if it is legit? Or are there even such things as fake DT-35s?

Why is the dt-35 so sought after? It has an unproportionally large amount of threads about it.

I did search here on TL and found a lot of threads without finding the answer... Most of them are just like this thread (maybe the op could have searched). Maybe me mentioning that there are a lots of threads about it could have tipped you off.

You can't expect me to read through 10+ thread when a single line answer would do. Thanks for nothing, just forget I asked.

I'm considering buying this one in the future. My only concerns are the little keys that make the spacebar smaller. Do those buttons toggle between languages or is there even any effect on english windows?

you are correct, they do toggle betweeen hangul and english, I'm sure its only activated if your korean language keyboard is activated.

this one is legit. I bought the korean version which has both the english and korean letters on it. It's a really a awesome keyboard for the price you pay for it. It takes around 20 to 30 days to arrive and it's free shipping.
The keyboard is overpriced slightly and it doesn't make you a better gamer, but I'm sure everyone knows this. it's just a really nice and simple keyboard.
the spacebar is a really nice size and if you get the korean version it still types in english, but you have the option to type in korean if you wish.
also I recommend buying gaming gear from http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/803343/all-wholesale-products.html . They don't mark up the price too much and the shipping is free, which is awesome if you're not from the US and hate paying $40 for shipping.

I love how Korean progamers buy this cheapass keyboard and get better, mostly cuz of their training.
And European players think its the source of their skill and want become 1337 in starcraft :D

that really isn't the case. it's one of the best keyboards for its price. if you're not wanting to spend $100 on a branded or mechanical keyboard, then this is oneof the best keyboards. the shapes, the feel and the key placement is pretty close to perfect for it's price.
a lot of the cheap keyboards now days are a really odd shape or have crappy macros next to your keys. most of them are wireless too ><

He specifically stated in the OP he liked the checkerboard pattern, you twat. Just a heads up OP and you may already know this (apologies), the checkerboard does not come standard, you have to buy two and swap them out. So if you're looking for the checkerboard specifically, you could go with any model that's offered in multiple colors.

pretty much what fantasysan said above. Imagine a popular cheap ass keyboard wherever you live. It's why the Koreans used it, and through hard work and training became great SC players. Now randos want the source of this skill. Is it the sick keyboard? Must be! Gotta get a Qsenn when many other rubber domes are pretty much the same. Now Qsenn sees this and wants to make a quick buck by making a "gaming" version. Bam.

I bought mine of off ebay, and it's with both korean and english, and the layout is no problem and it automatically adjusted to my computers language (Danish) so i can also write æøå as well, so overall no problems with the ebay one, and that is a genuine model directly from korea

Go to your local market and get any 5-10 dollar keyboard. Nothing special about the DT35. Any rubber dome over $20 or so you're paying for a brand.

I don't know how you can't find them. Gmarket English even ships to europe.
I bought 4 white DT-35s. Went completely flawless. Shipped very quickly. Cost almost nothing.

EDIT: Even though the Gaming edition is supposed to be better. I bought 2 of each. And I could not feel a difference even when I had extremely high apm. Don't worry. Even DRG use the USB version, and he has an EPM of 500 some times. (Check GSL code S 2013 - you can see a white logo on his dt-35 = USB. Black = PS2/gaming edition.)

The logo for USB or PS2 is right above the Numpad.
Gaming edition has higher rollover #. (more keys can be pressed at the same time)

People don't think the keyboard is the source of their skill. Do you really believe that? It's just that they want a keyboard that a pro player use because they know it is approved or confirmed to be used at top level.

Go for it. Trust me. USB works just as good. You don't necessarily need to hate on the hardware hype going on. But you sure know that it's not going to be something slowing you down. As I said , DRG use usb. So no worries. Not even GM players can match his apm. And APM is the only thing USB vs PS2 really matters about. (might be speed too but who cares)

Im Master level Terran. And I used USB white DT-35 for years. I have 4 of them. They are water proof. And never get broken. :D

You could just get them both off of eBay and save yourself the hassle. The price you see on Gmarket doesn't take into account shipping.

gmarket is a pain in the ass, their system pretty much screws over foreigners.

What about Amazon? Seems like the real keyboard to me. Really cheap too. It ships from a company in Korea too so seems like the real deal.

You can get a Qsenn VERY easily off ebay.

I am always fascinated by the Samsung/Qsenn DT35 story -

1. Korean gamers buy this cheapass, generic keyboard entirely because they are cheap.
2. Korean gamers get really good at Starcraft, primarily by playing it 24/7.
3. Americans/Europeans want to become mega-1337 at Starcraft without actually developing any real skills.
4. They come to the conclusion that the brand of keyboard used by the Korean players is a contributing factor in success.
5. Demand for said cheapass keyboard develops amongst Western gamers.
6. Importers sell the keyboard onto the hapless masses, sometimes for as much as 10 times the price that it retails for in Korea.
7. People actually buy them.

It's times like these that I develop a limited appreciation for people who get involved in sociology research.

Moral of the story: Go to your local supermarket and buy the cheapest keyboard you can find. Same difference.

Honestly the price is pretty terrible for a keyboard but I would guess that part of the reason why people buy these keyboards/mice like the Logitech mini optical is because the pros use them. Not because they think it will improve their game because nobody is that stupid. How badass is it to own the gear used by your favorite progamer? It's still kind of silly from a purely economic viewpoint but it's not as stupid as you think.

I think DRG still uses a Qsenn DT-35, confirmed on his stream last night, but other than that I think most players (even the KeSPA players) switched to mechanical.

Yes he got sponsored by Zowie. I think that can be part of the reason. Because the keyboard isn't bad at all.
