Most of them are just like this thread (maybe the op could have searched). Maybe me mentioning that there are a lots of threads about it could have tipped you off. You can't expect me to read through 10+ thread when a single line answer would do. Thanks for nothing, just forget I asked.

I bought the korean version which has both the english and korean letters on it. It's a really a awesome keyboard for the price you pay for it. It takes around 20 to 30 days to arrive and it's free shipping. The keyboard is overpriced slightly and it doesn't make you a better gamer, but I'm sure everyone knows this. it's just a really nice and simple keyboard. the spacebar is a really nice size and if you get the korean version it still types in english, but you have the option to type in korean if you wish. also I recommend buying gaming gear from http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/803343/all-wholesale-products.html . They don't mark up the price too much and the shipping is free, which is awesome if you're not from the US and hate paying $40 for shipping.

Just a heads up OP and you may already know this (apologies), the checkerboard does not come standard, you have to buy two and swap them out. So if you're looking for the checkerboard specifically, you could go with any model that's offered in multiple colors.

On August 03 2011 20:15 nihlon wrote: Why is the dt-35 so sought after? It has an unproportionally large amount of threads about it. pretty much what fantasysan said above. Imagine a popular cheap ass keyboard wherever you live. It's why the Koreans used it, and through hard work and training became great SC players. Now randos want the source of this skill. Is it the sick keyboard? Must be! Gotta get a Qsenn when many other rubber domes are pretty much the same. Now Qsenn sees this and wants to make a quick buck by making a "gaming" version. Bam.

Does anyone know about other keyboards that are similar? Or possiably a way I could purchase the QSenn/Samsung DT-35 I don't know how you can't find them. Gmarket English even ships to europe. I bought 4 white DT-35s. Went completely flawless. Shipped very quickly. Cost almost nothing. EDIT: Even though the Gaming edition is supposed to be better. I bought 2 of each. And I could not feel a difference even when I had extremely high apm. Don't worry. Even DRG use the USB version, and he has an EPM of 500 some times. (Check GSL code S 2013 - you can see a white logo on his dt-35 = USB. Black = PS2/gaming edition.) The logo for USB or PS2 is right above the Numpad. Gaming edition has higher rollover #. (more keys can be pressed at the same time)

It's just that they want a keyboard that a pro player use because they know it is approved or confirmed to be used at top level.

Trust me. USB works just as good. You don't necessarily need to hate on the hardware hype going on. But you sure know that it's not going to be something slowing you down. As I said , DRG use usb. So no worries. Not even GM players can match his apm. And APM is the only thing USB vs PS2 really matters about. (might be speed too but who cares) Im Master level Terran. And I used USB white DT-35 for years. I have 4 of them. They are water proof. And never get broken. :D (Not selling if it looks like I am hinting that)

1. Korean gamers buy this cheapass, generic keyboard entirely because they are cheap. 2. Korean gamers get really good at Starcraft, primarily by playing it 24/7. 3. Americans/Europeans want to become mega-1337 at Starcraft without actually developing any real skills. 4. They come to the conclusion that the brand of keyboard used by the Korean players is a contributing factor in success. 5. Demand for said cheapass keyboard develops amongst Western gamers. 6. Importers sell the keyboard onto the hapless masses, sometimes for as much as 10 times the price that it retails for in Korea. 7. People actually buy them. It's times like these that I develop a limited appreciation for people who get involved in sociology research. Moral of the story: Go to your local supermarket and buy the cheapest keyboard you can find. Same difference. + Show Spoiler + Or practice your left testicle off

Not because they think it will improve their game because nobody is that stupid. How badass is it to own the gear used by your favorite progamer? It's still kind of silly from a purely economic viewpoint but it's not as stupid as you think.
