Note: This is not about watching streams, in fact I can still watch streams perfectly fine.
Last week I went to my cottage for 5 days, when I came back on Monday I went to watch a youtube video and the screen was black. No play button or anything. I left it because the video really wasn't that important and I figured it would go away upon restarting my computer.
The next day, however, when my friend sent me a youtube link, it was still black. I still didn't care because I really don't watch youtube videos all that much. When I do it's usually Day9 and I can just go to his archive on blip.
Now to the problem: It also applies to the TL SCBW VODs that are located on the website. For whatever reason, it doesn't apply to other websites such as vevo and vimeo. I've googled for the solution and can't find it at all. I was hoping maybe some fellow TeamLiquidians would be able to help me.

I'm currently running Google Chrome so I know Flash is up-to-date, however my video driver isn't, so I'm downloading the update as I type this.

Have you tried watching videos in FF or IE? Maybe even Opera?

Videos run fine in Firefox. If there's no actual solution for them to run in Google Chrome I guess I'll just have to run Firefox whenever I want to watch something.

Did you download the adblocker extension? I heard it may screw up youtube videos. Mine dont, however, so I'm not sure.

Tried reinstalling the browser? Maybe something went screwy with the plugin container for no good reason. Just export all your bookmarks and stuff to firefox first, uninstall and reinstall chrome, and re-import the stuff.
See if that works.

I had same problem, youtube is actually adressing the issue. It was the new ADOBE flash upgrade on google (google updates flash automatically) you can use a different broswer if you want, if you updated for those browsers, I dunno maybe? but yeah, its related to the adobe.
EDIT: If you right click, does it say "movie not loaded..."?

You may not have done this, but also clear the cache, it should be the option next to clear cookies.
EDIT: also, if you have a GPU with a control center software make sure "enforece smooth video playback" is set to false, or unchecked.

Yes it does say "movie not loaded." So should I just wait for youtube to fix it and not bother trying any of the other solutions people have posted?

You can also try reinstalling the Flash plugin. It happened to me quite a few times; I assumed it had something to do with misconfiguration and reinstalling it fixed the issue each time.

Have to wait until Youtube fixes the issue (they're currently working on it). Until then try changing the URL of the video you're trying to watch to https instead of http, fixed the issue for me and is a good enough work around until whatever is screwing it up is fixed.
P.S.: The issue apparently is directly due to the newest Flash update, so uninstalling it and reinstalling or trying to update will probably not fix the issue.
