Does anyone know where to look to find where my memory is going?

Images of task manager at link.

If I reboot it returns to about 25% usage at idle, but will build up over the course of a few days to where it is now. It definitely feels sluggish at this point.

Personally I use either Process Explorer or Process Hacker, both are great.

Thanks for the replies! I think I figured out where it was leaking using RAMMap (and probably could have with those), it showed an uncountable number of 60KB processes for the ASUS touchpad software Smart Gesture that maybe were of the order of magnitude to be using it all.

Turned out to be moot for now anyway because the windows update yesterday really messed something up, similar to this and after trying tons of repair options ended up having to just reset Windows altogether.

Anyone have an idea how long it takes for the password reset function to cooldown and allow for another PW reset to be sent to another email? I goofed and sent my reset password request to a defunct email address that I can no longer access

I bought a new Archer C7 v2 router and since then I've been having ISP DHCP issues, as in my dynamic IP won't renew seamlessly. Before it used to drop every hour to 3 hours for around a minute before getting a new IP, but I've since factory reset it and now only seems to happen once a day. It's still extremely annoying when it does and not a conducive environment for gaming.

I've tried a multitude of things like ensuring the firmware is updated and disabling IPV6 and MAC address cloning but it still drops for about a minute between when the IP needs to be released and renewed. I'm assuming this isn't a normal occurrence as gaming for anyone else would be a pain.

Also sometimes it'll tell me that the DHCP service is unavailable and just won't renew the IP or take more than a few minutes and I have to reboot it.

Any tips or tricks or ideas?

Are you sure your modem is really modem only and not also acting as a router?

Is the DHCP server supposed to be enabled on the modem as well?

I have a facebook account but I want to delete it. I don't know if I need at a later time (job?). Best scenario is I make it "invisible" as If I would delete it. If I delete it, can I do a new account with the (exact) same for/sur-name?

When a network device requests an IP address and a DHCP server responds with one, it's called an address lease. Like a lease on a car or apartment, a DHCP IP address lease has a fixed duration, and before it expires the lease must be renewed. On a typical home or small office router a DHCP lease may last between eight and 24 hours. Each time the lease is renewed (which happens automatically), there's a chance the device will receive a different IP address.
Extend Your Lease

One way to keep DHCP-issued addresses more consistent is to lengthen the lease times for more staying power. Many routers let you specify a lease time as long as 9,999 minutes, which works out to a tick under a week (166.65 hours, to be exact). Some offer only a handful of pre-defined lease lengths, but these usually include a few relatively long-term options like a week, two weeks or a maybe even month. Others go so far as to offer an "unlimited" or "forever" option. (On routers that define DHCP leases in minutes, setting it for 0 minutes is often a stand-in for a long-term or unlimited lease; check your device's documentation or online help to be sure.)

In short, by selecting the longest DHCP lease time possible, you can reduce the odds of a device having its IP address changed. A lease that never expires is ideal, but even extending the lease time from a day to a week reduces the number of potential address changes from 365 to 52.
thing is, you need to know which IP is resetting: the IP given by your ISP to the router or the IP given by your router to your PC. either way, try and set them to static; some ISPs are fine with it and on renew do nothing but others give you an unusable IP(in that case you need to have dhcp enabled at all times).
And my fury stands ready. I bring all your plans to nought. My bleak heart beats steady. 'Tis you whom I have sought.

If your modem has a DHCP server option, it's not really a modem but a combo modem/router.

I have my desktop on a static IP, with the IP reserved so it's definitely my public IP. I'll try set it to static and see what happens.

RIP it's ISP issued, and I can sign into the web interface, but there's no way for me to disable the DHCP server.
I can just view that it's on.

I'd call your ISP and see what they have to say about the problem.

Ask your ISP if they can set their device to "bridge mode".

any networking gurus?

my gf has Comcast internet with tv, and there's an Arris modem/router combo and a cable box.
her internet periodically loses connection. Comcast technician said the signal to the house was good, so my intuition told me that maybe the signal is being diluted by the splitter.
i leave the modem/router on, and just unplug the cable that goes from the cable box to the TV for several seconds.
i plug it back on, and shortly after the lights on the modem stop blinking and internet comes back on soon.
to rule out coincidence or luck, i waited for the connection to die several more times and repeat the same process, which still worked.
so i figured the splitter provided was weak, so i got a better one -- but the connection still dies off occasionally.

what is causing the intermittent connection drops here?

Most routers have diagnostics, it'll give you a hint where the signal's cut off.
Seems to me like poor wiring in the outlet might be responsible, but that's usually the first thing the Comcast guy checks.
I've had the same problems at my old place, the guy fixed it within 5 minutes by replacing the socket ..didn't look too hard, either... you'll probably just need the right parts.
