EPTIt could be your monitor, so maybe try to check with another monitor you may have lying around. Either way, I'd narrow it down so that you know what isn't the issue.

Thing is im not a computer guru, so when stuff doesnt work i have to find someone else who knows about it. But windows 10 hasnt been around for very long and im a bit worried that if something goes wrong there wont be enough people that have the same problem and have worked out an answer. Basicaly should i upgrade to windows 10? its giving a notification like "dont miss out on windows 10" what happens if i dont upgrade do i just miss windows 10 forever or will it then cost money to upgrade i dont get it. | ||

The thermal transfer liquid running through the case is for aesthetics - I can't imagine there is much heat transfer. Otherwise, the liquid cooling is just like any other closed system where the coolant is running through the pipes into the blocks on the parts to be cooled (that CPU block looks interesting) and then carried around to the radiator which cools the liquid by shoving air across the fins. It's a very nice looking custom liquid cooling system, but not anything especially high tech. | ||

My build is w7 sp1 64bits, 4GB ddr3 ram, i5 750, P7P55D and radeon Hd5850. I got a 212 coolermaster fan instead of the stock one for my CPU, and one for the GPU (scythe something, not sure of the brand/model). I have stopped trying to play starcraft 2 HotS because I could not maintain a decent framerate on it (60fps with v-sync). I have been able to play it just fine one year ago but right now the framerate is dropping hard. Looking at ATI Control Center I saw that sometimes the card was too hot (70 celsius degrees) and because of that the card would stop running at performance frequences, which is probably why I can't play smoothly. I opened up my case and saw that the GPU fan had some trouble spinning by itself, it doesn't necessarily start by itself, I had to give a trigger manually, which is quite problematic since I want to use my computer with the case closed... I had this fan on the card for maybe two or three years but I stopped gaming quite a lot the last two years. My question is therefore simple: can I fix the fan by myself or am I good to try to buy another one? It was quite a pain to install so removing it from the card then installing another one on it will probably give me some troubles... Another question is: will this build be sufficient for Legacy of the Void on hybrid settings or something? (60fps all the time from early game to late game) In 1v1 especially, I don't care much if I can't play 4v4 with a decent framerate. Of course it's assuming my card is cool enough to run at the expected frequencies. Sorry if it was quite long but I don't know where else post it and I can't afford a new computer right now but I would really like to be able to play sc2 competitively again. | ||

I guess you could just buy a new fan. You say you have a third-party cooler from Scythe and don't use the original cooler that was on the card. Doesn't this mean this cooler you have is already prepared to be used with different fans? Does it have some sort of fan bracket or clamps to keep any fan in place? Do you have an adapter to connect the cable of a normal PC case fan to the smaller fan headers like what's used on the GPU? On my card here, I also had to replace the fans. I bought normal 92mm case fans and tied them onto the cooler. I connected the cable to the motherboard as I couldn't find an adapter for the fan header on the graphics card. The whole thing looks ghetto and very ugly, but works pretty well. The fans I used run a lot slower and can't be controlled by the card, but they are super thick compared to what's normally used on a graphics card so still cool well enough. Another thing... are you sure the card is slowing down because it's too hot? Those 70 °C might be completely fine. That temperature would be alright for my current GTX 680, and on my old GTX 560 Ti something above 90 °C was supposedly fine. You might want to research details about what was going on with those GPU chips that were used on your HD5850. | ||
