It's almost always just software/OS bloat. Once you eliminate that or replace any hardware that's malfunctioning (though that's very unlikely) then it's functionally a brand new system. No such thing as "getting old" for computer hardware as most people generally think of it. Any tips or tricks on how to get rid of the software/OS bloat? Reset the Tablet to factory default and deny all upgrades? Or is it always better to have the latest OS?
IDK for phone OS's, apps or phone OS upgrades etc. For windows you'd just take 15 minutes to copy/paste what you wanted, 15 minutes with an install disk and a trip to www.ninite.com (and then spend 2-3 weeks in shock as the hoarder side of you mourns for the loss of your random crap)

For mobile OS you usually have to root the device to remove manufacturer bloatware. It's usually included in the factory reset and not uninstallable like a normal app.

I bought a modmic to attach to my Sennheiser HD650 since my gaming headset broke (the headband snapped despite having never been mistreated). The problem is that I'm also going to need a sound card, external or internal, since the onboard sound is horrible and has constant static noise.
I don't need excellent studio-level sound, I just need something that won't have such prominent static noise all the time. What should I pick up?

hope this is a simple question. If I have a nice headset but it doesn't have a mic what's the best thing to do? clippon mic? earbud+mic?

Look at the post directly above, and if you get noise via onboard sound there are a number of $5 USB sound cards on eBay to try, maybe a SoundBlaster E1, etc.

i found it on amazon I just wasn't sure how good they are and didn't want to spend 50 dollars on something without hearing anything about it,plus I thought there might be something decent a little bit cheaper. anyone know how good they are?

The modmic is supposed to be excellent when paired with a sound card that isn't complete garbage, and I guess even $1 chinese USB sound cards might give adequate results. That said, if you want to save a lot of money, you can also get the Zalman ZM-Mic1 for a few dollars, the downside being that it picks up possibly a lot more background sound, and since it's a clip on mic, it's not in front of your mouth, it's like below your chin, so the sound can't be as good.
That being said, regarding sound cards, it looks like the sound chipsets on many motherboards are very poorly isolated from the interference from the rest of your computers, so you could hook up an excellent microphone to an horrible sound card and still get horrible results.

Is this poor/no contact, or alright? I can't really tell, but it's messed up compared to the others because of pcb bend (GPU VRAM)
|
hmm there DOES seem to be a gap
don't you have access to vrm temps?
i feel your pain in any case

It's RAM, not VRM, and no we dont have 8 individual temperature sensors for them

Q : What's with the ladder hard reset. Been GM and Masters for a long time now, did my 5 placement matches, won 5, and got placed platinium. Is it the highest you can be placed at?
|

I think it hard resets your MMR if you're inactive through two season changes, not sure though. You might be able to be placed diamond, but plat could be the ceiling too
IDK if there was a hard reset for everyone, didn't hear about it

Can Mac OS (any version) run apps from the app store? Or do you have to use an emulator?
|
Not sure if this is right place but: I want to run a tournament with my friends and we'd like to prepare bracket. Format is: Groups with 4 players -> 2 advances; double elimination bracket (as in GSL or WCS) Playoffs: Single elimination bracket Thing is I cannot find any tool which would allow me to create tournament with said format. It's either groups with round robin OR double elimination bracket but without groups at all (just playoffs). Does anybody know of some tool/website which would allow for such format?

AFAIK the mac PC OS is completely separate from the mobile OS (phone/tablet/etc)

If I watch twitch stream at [source] on my smartphone. How much bandwith it takes? As much as If I watch [source] on my computer? It works smoothly on my smartphone but my computer only on [low].

Yes. ~0.5 - 1.6 GB per hour for most streamers. (up to twitch stream bandwidth limits)
Twitch uses CBR only which is not bandwidth friendly, but apparently a lot of bandwidth all of the time is much easier for them and ISP's to deal with than wildly fluctuating bandwidth requirements

The average stream runs at around 2-3Mb/s at full quality (source), so you can extrapolate from there.

I assumed ~ 1 - 3.5 mbit/s (Mb, not MB :D) plus audio for that

You can use one of r1ch's tools ( https://r-1.ch/analyzer/ ) to measure a particular stream or just watch your network activity.
For example (picked top viewer streamer from 3 games at the present time): TSM_TheOddOne is 1965 kbps with a deviation of ±101.47 kbps syndicate is 3120 kbps with a deviation of ±117.51 kbps trumpsc is 2947 kbps with a deviation of ±87.85 kbps
From my experience, a solid 720p quality is going to run closer to 3Mb/s, but you still get good quality streams at 2MB/s.
