I'm aware my processor is above the minimum requirements and my gpu (integrated) is below the minimum. processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2.0G gpu: Intel GMA 4500MHD Would just lower my resolution to the minimum possible most likely.

So I have a laptop and I'm at my dorm. My ethernet cable is plugged in. I check some stuff then go to class. I come back after class, the ethernet port is not lighting up. I'm assuming the port doesn't even work anymore. I haven't done anything to it though... now I'm stuck with wireless... Is my ethernet port broken? or did something get disabled or what? Help please?

Now, it's idle temp is about 30-35 and when playing games it shoots up to 55-60C. I'm using the integrated graphics because I'm not really a major gamer, but wondering what's causing the problem (don't really know much about PCs). I tried using a manual fan to see if that was the problem, but temperature still remained still. Is 60C too high? Is it because using the integrated graphics is too much for cpu to handle? or should I just get a new heat sink (If so, which)? I would reckon it may be due to thermal paste, but I could be wrong. I have a i3-2120 at home and I get idle temperatures of ~40C and ~50C when playing SC2. If you're using your IGP I think the temperatures should actually be less, not more. If you're using a dedicated graphics card it draws out some of your CPU usage (well on my laptop it does at least).

I'm not so sure about thermal paste suddenly becoming so bad, so quickly. Anyway, 60C is still definitely acceptable, not a problem in of itself at all. By the way, I can see it being possible, but I really wouldn't expect power draw to be lower with the IGP on, unless you have graphics settings high enough to make things unplayable. I mean, power consumption of the IGP (considering we're assuming that the IGP is bottlenecking things and would be pretty much maxed out) is probably going to outweigh the power consumption saved from a couple CPU cores having a lighter load from being bottlenecked by the IGP.

Since i never found any answer to my problem on TL or google, im gonna ask in this thread, wich i don't know if its the right thread :/ so feel free to move it where its supposed to be. Basically, my problem occurs randomly in sc2 at the very beginning of a game (ladder or custom), after the loading screen. As you can see in the picture below, the game will start with the private chat bar (or whatever its called) of my opponent opened (even if i never talked to him), and i cannot do anything, except spam every keys of my keyboard until this evil chat bar is eventually removed. I tried escape and enter ofc, i tried to type in the chat bar, to use control groups or hotkeys, but i never figured out what was actually solving my problem while spamming everything :p This issue can be very frustrating, not only cause it ruins the game that im playing when laddering, but especially cause i cant even inform my opponent of what is happening, so i end up leaving the game half of the times it happens... Im so frustrated everytime this happens that i never took the time to screen cap, but 2 years after the game came out, i remembered to do it this time ! ![]() Thx in advance for answering me, and sorry if my english sucks, feel free to correct me :p

In this case pressing it should get rid of who you talk to since there's only one? Could be wrong. That's the private chat method utilized in SC2.
