Sell it. Take it apart for the fun of it. Paper weight? Make it into an art work? You might be able to use it to connect another monitor but you can just use the 670 for that anyway.

Anyone knows if owned.tv changed their code recently or something? It seems like it doesn't work on firefox anymore but it does on internet explorer. (I just get a black screen in firefox but if I put the same url in IE, then the stream appears.)

I ask this because I had no problems seeing any owned.tv streams before in firefox but a few days ago they just give me a black screen instead of the stream.

I feel like im not getting the FPS that i should in most games. Is there a tool/site where i can benchmark my system and compare to what i should be getting? Is 3dMark still around and if so, would that be suited for my test?

Most likely an issue with the CPU or PSU. Make sure you've got all your cables plugged in properly and the CPU properly seated.

That laptop has a GT 640M which is supposed to be able to play SC2 on high-ish settings

Ok, so my computer just froze, i turn it off as nothing responded (no sound no nothing), just frozen image

i start it up again, black screen instead of login screen, even though i can see my mouse

tried repair tool, didn't do anything

what could be causing this?

edit : nvm, system restore and 3 other restarts seemed to be what my computer needed...

is there a way to throttle down the speed in which steam downloads games? Whenever I download a game its lags other people in my house trying to use the internet. And for anybody wondering, 50 down 5 up

As of the last time I checked (~1 yr ago), the steam client does not let you throttle. You theoretically could throttle it yourself with software on your computer, enabling QoS and throttling from your router, etc.

If it's completely kaput, take it apart and wash out the internal components with distilled water. Nothing to lose, and it's probably fixable. If it's not completely broken, then it's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk.

This is not a simple question. It also depends on your hardware. Posting load temps for them, along with hardware, and asking if they're safe is fairly simple, though.

It depends on the ambient but roughly you should have between 20-55c idle on a desktop on the lower end and a laptop the higher end and 60c-85c on desktop low end or laptop high end. Overclocking raises temperatures of course. In most cases, you're ok if it doesn't go over 90c for long periods of time, although it's always better to keep it as low as possible, like around 75c during prime95.

Thermal throttling tends to kick in around 98c-100c.

This is for Intel chips by the way.

edit: like jingle said though, it depends a lot on hardware, but those are rough guidelines, post your specs.
