Graphic Glitch on my Aging Video Card

Aron Times United States312 Posts April 10 2011 06:48 GMT #1 Hello Team Liquid. I experienced a weird graphics glitch in my last game of Starcraft 2 where the display just went haywire. I quickly paused the game using hotkeys and then alt-tabbed (actually ctrl-esc'd since alt-tab is disabled) to the desktop to see if there were any error messages. Seeing everything looking normal, I tab back to the game to see the graphics return to normal. I figured that my video card was overheating so I shut down the PC and went to bed. However, I couldn't sleep, so I turned my PC back on to see if the glitch would occur again. Here's a screenshot of my desktop with Starcraft 2 minimized. I had a hunch on what might be causing this, so I thought of switching from Aero to the basic Windows 7 theme. The graphics glitch is gone. So, is my graphics card dying? Or is this simply a problem with Aero?

skycaptain United States101 Posts April 10 2011 07:07 GMT #2 What kind of graphics card do you have, and how old is it? From the screen shots, it certainly looks like your card is on its way out.
