so i played a custom xel'naga 1v1 and suddenly my keyboard stops working (no hotkeys,no typing). in the chat box it says the players name in there respective color(in this case blue). also when i try to click on the map it pings(so embarassing when it happened in a 4v4). this has happened multiple times and my friend had the same problem on a much better computer so i dont think this is my computer failing. please tell me what you think and pardon if i have broken a guideling or something this is my first tech pose.

What kind of keyboards are they? Tried reboots? Reinstalling/updating keyboard drivers?

sorry i forgot to mention ii have a shitty logitech wireless desktop EX110 but when i minimize the sc2 i can type and all is normal so idk what problem is. please help. once i reboot sc2 everything fine but i lose game and everything so im wondering is there a way too get rid of it ingame?

Well, I'd suggest getting a wired keyboard, first and foremost. However, sounds like your KB driver is having issues with SC2. Tried updating drivers? Different USB port for the wireless receiver? How far away from the receiver is the keyboard? Could be the wireless is losing signal for a split second and SC2 doesn't recognize when connection resets?

the keyboard works fine no lag until after the problem so it doesnt lose connection. if i minimize sc2 it stilll works if i search web or type on word. but the receiver is 1 ft under the keyboard. soryy not very good with computers whats a KB DRIVER. also yeh i changed keyboard usb port. but keep in mind my minimap bugs out and pings a lot not only keyboard.

A driver is (simply) the piece of software that talks between your device and your operating system.

Check the logitech site, they should have a download driver link, possibly near their support section. Anytime anything stops working, the first thing you should do is check driver versions (If you know the situations where this isn't true, you know what I mean telling him that anyway.)

seems like you are pressing some combination of keys that triggers a new mode for the input devices. You say that you are forced to click on the mini map and that it pings. browse through the options and see what you could be doing.

@ ruthless i reset to default settings and i only press what i need to and coinsidering im bronze thats 1 2 3 4 and rightclick i dont think im trigering something witht that or i could be completely wrong i dont know.

sorry i also forgot to meantion that i mean im not forced to click on minimap but when i do it pings. so i have to manually scroll this mouse in corners of screen.

Edit: Normally the shortcut is holding down shift, but if someone messed around with it for whatever reason...

Sticky keys is an option in recent Windows operating systems to let you push keys like Ctrl, Alt, and Delete one at a time. Normally the hotkey to turn this on is holding down shift. If that happens, it could be holding onto the Alt button and inputting it with every command, possibly. It's beyond my specific knowledge if this CAN actually happen, but it seems like a theoretical possibility.

Go to your Control Panel and search for sticky keys. Select the option for press key commands one at a time. Click Set Up sticky keys, and make sure it's turned off.

I'm not sure how it would affect your game, I've never used it, I've just had the command prompt offering to turn it on drive me insane before. But it could cause your alt key to essentially be stuck, to the best of my knowledge.

o yeh THAT when i hold shift ong it stops sc2 and i say no and it goes away so i dont think its that either. this is so annyoing

Well, that's how you turn that off at least. Try updating the drivers, other than that, no clue.

Actually, I got the same problem. It happends randomly, keys from F1 to F12, numlock, home, end, pause, enter do work, but the rest dont. My keyboard is normal office (or somthn) Logitech wired ps/2. hate this :| anyone did find a solution to that problem? blizz support is of course helpfull as always (read: zero help whatsoever)

did you alt tab? sometimes when i alt tab the alt key gets "stuck" in the on position just press alt in game again and it fixes it for me. couple times i had it with the ctrl key also. hope its what you did. sorry if its not useful info.

Your CTRL or ALT button is getting stuck. either ALT + CLICK or CTRL+CLICK = PING
