Does anyone know how to fix this or if it can even be fixed? The damage looks pretty permanent. Thanks in advance for possibly saving her life

It looks like it has even seeped into the clear plastic to a degree somehow. Does anyone know how to fix this or if it can even be fixed? The damage looks pretty permanent. Thanks in advance for possibly saving her life ![]() Ehh Most likely the plastic has been damaged. I'm not sure if this is possible to repair this. As the other user said best advice would be to replace your girlfriend.

2. Get her to buy you a new monitor. Im fairly certain it is not reversible because it sounds like the anti-galre coating that the put on the screen has been damaged.

Only cause you could wipe it off with something is if it was just something that sticked too the screen. I know mate. Its always worth a try though, however unlikely

White stains are probably mineral particles from tap water, always use distiled water to clean LCD. Try to use isopropyle alcohol with distiled water (1:1) to clean it. dont put it on LCD but on some cloth first. If nothing helps, you could also check if there is not a protective sheet on lcd which could be removed. In worst case scenario you could just take some thinner or detergent and experiment Photo would be nice btw. Edit: late... So if it was Isopropylalcohol it should not damage lcd screen, we are using it to clean lcd panels and also plastic parts of lcd tv in my work. i do not know 1-propanol, but I still think that those stains are only minerals from tapwater.

![]() ![]() that's a close up of the bottom part of the clear plastic frame where I tried to rub the cloudiness off, as you can see it still remains a bit sort of contained in the plastic from what it looks like.

But as another poster said... it looks like reminiscent from the tap water... and cleaning it multiple times with distilled water, MIGHT help. Another could be that the shit she used ruined the AG coating, but m no expert on monitors. I also dont understand how the bezel got like that... Seriously wtf did she use.. A word of warning, though. Never use any other cleaners, especially those that contain ammonia, such as glass cleaners. Ammonia can damage an LCD screen and leave it looking cloudy. Also avoid paper towels, since they can easily scratch an LCD as they drag dirt and paper particles over the surface of the screen; that’s why it’s so important to use the softest cloth you can. It says propan-2-ol as well but after looking on a few sites I found out that is isopropyl alcohol. Edit: I tried using just the disinfectant stuff without tap water and it still left that white residue so I don't think it's to do with tap water. I think whatever was used was made to clean hands and purposely fuck plastic.

This reminds me of myself shooting on my screen with a softair gun, which destroyed it pretty much ;P
