I would like to add some tips for any razer abyssus owners out there. First off if you hear a slight rattle sound when moving from side to side you can fix this by removing the plastic switches that toggle the dpi/frequency. I contacted razer support when I first received it and they said it was not normal and I sent for a replacement from amazon. Well same problem on this one TT, but atleast the fix is easy although this does mean to switch them you need to use something like a screwdriver but for me it was worth it to not have to hear the rattle sound.
As far as the blue led being always I just opened the mouse up and removed the LED entirely. It can be re-installed easily if I do change my mind.
TO dissemble the mouse there is a single screw in the center of the largest plastic slider on the south side of the bottom of the mouse, just peel off the slider (it will reattach easy, I've done it twice now) and unscrew the single screw. Then the top should just pull off. Just make sure everything is in place when you are ready to reassemble.
With these modifications the abyssus is perfect for me, 480dpi, 6/11 sensitivity setting, and fingertip grip.

I've 2 salmosa and 2 abyssus. Decent except I get a terrible feeling of bottom left bias after a months on all of them. Maybe normal wear and tear? Also the build quality feels a little cheap imo compared to a deathadder.
But maybe I'm just being biased and all claw mice are like that because of their smaller size. G9x is arriving tomorrow in the mail though, so we'll see if it's any different.

Nothing wrong with using low DPI, especially if you play a lot of FPS games. G9x is awesome, but you might not find the shells provided to your liking. Try using it without any shell whatsoever and see how that works out for you. Personally i think it's the best mouse i've ever owned and i was to buy a new mouse it'd be another G9x.

I have the g9x and its great. But it has 2 flaws...
1: the sensor has a little built in acceleration. Which sucks since if you move fast you always overshoot a little and then correct it afterwards.. Its only like 5% acceleration or so but anyway..
2: The middle mouse button is hard as hell to press down..
Regarding the sensor it cant be fixed by logitech its just how it is with that sensor.. Ofcourse you can minimize accel problem by setting everything up correctly 6/11 in windows, remove accel.. and 5 in setpoint and accel 0.. but still you cant get rid of acccel completley
If these two flaws wouldnt exist it would be a very good mouse. Build quality is great and alot of functions.
I give it 8/10 rating.

Just bought the Logitech g400 and having the weirdest problem with it. I previously used the abyssus and had no problems splitting/spreading units where I have to use both mouse buttons in quick succession but if i try to do the same thing with the g400 it feels like the mouse has some delay between how quickly you can use one button after the other. For example, with the g400 if I box some marines and quickly try to give a move command nothing happens but if I try the exact same thing with the abyssus it works just fine. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?
|
Nope, didn't have that problem with the G400 at all. Do you use drivers? Could you try completely removing them or just plugging the mouse in another comp to see whether this is a software or hardware issue?

Yeah I find 480 perfect for rts, 1080 is what I used to use but its just a little too twitchy for me. Once you get used to moving your hand more it feels a lot better.

Hey I was going to buy a razer deathadder, my old razer habu has had the double click problem for a long time now and I'm gotten too frustrated with it.
Can anyone explain to me why I can find the razer deathadder for only 48 dollars (new) on amazone while on razer's site it costs 60 dollars?
|
1) There are many versions of the Deathadder.
2) Most of the time manufacturers have to sell on their website at the same price as physical retailers, otherwise those refuse to put the products on their shelves.
is my humble guess.

With or without drivers I still can't click one mouse button right after the other without the second one I hit not registering.
I tried it first with drivers but at this point I don't have the drivers installed and I can't get past level 10 on Darlenger's(?) Micro trainer for splitting marines where as I can reach lvl 26 using any of my other mice. To even get that far I have to purposly split very slowly and carefully just to make sure the mouse keeps up -_-

The g9x is very nice. Good control, size and feel for me ^^; I agree with kilos on the 2 flaws though.

I think you should get a replacement then; I haven't used my G400 a lot but I think I would remember if it did that. (sold it since; can't test)

I never actually noticed the acceleration, so i don't really mind it that much. Also i have a work-around for the middle mouse button, i personally don't like tilting the mouse wheel to the left and right to scroll sideways so i rebound those two. To the right to me is now play/pause, and to the left is now middle mouse button. To me it didn't take that long to get used to, and it makes it far easier to press mouse 3.
Also aside from these things i agree it's a great mouse. It feels rock solid and just the quality of the parts overall is absolutely great. Such a satisfying clicking sound when you press the mouse buttons compared to my old Ikari...

1. What's your grip style? Right now i am using a small logitech mouse so I claw but I dont mind hybrid. 2. What's your sensitivity? High 3. What's your maximum budget? $150 4. Do you want additional buttons? Yes 5. What games do you play? LoL, Sc2, CS-Go, GW2, Borderlands 2, Dayz, Dota2, WoW 6. Do you mind angle snapping? Dont know what that is. 7. Other relevant information: I have carpel tunel in my right hand/arm so I need a mouse that will not cause me so much pain.

This is a rather open list, so I'm just going to recommend a steelseries sensei, or a raw version if you want to save some cash or dont need the extra features. If you want a smaller mouse similar to what you have been using, try a kana instead. I have had issues with my wrist in the past also, and I find the form of this mouse shape to be good for that. You could also try a G9 without a shell.
Another thing I have found that has helped my wrist is to get a thick mouse pad. Here I would reccomend the steelseries Mass pad (extra thick). Its going to sound like im a steelseries rep, but honestly I think they have the mouse/pad department nailed at the moment.

anyone seeing MKPs mouse right now, looks so badass. I think its a new purple Tt esports one.

I have looked into the Steel Series mouses and i have not liked the shape of them especially with my hand but I saw the Cyborg mouse and I like that I can customize it to my hand. Is it a good mouse?

yeah that's fair enough. the Rat mouses are pretty good. I had one for a few months but ended up not particularly liking the sensor, I think mine was a 7. some others perhaps can comment on the sensor? mine seemed very jittery. the mouse was fairly comfortable but I think I have preferred others with a more uniform body.

I have a g400 with a defective wire. It's obviously still within the warranty date but I no longer have the receipt or packaging. Am I just screwed or can I do something with logitech still? edit : After I gave them the product name and product id, they asked for my address and are shipping me a new g400. Apparently it's a common problem. Hopefully the new one won't have angle snapping

No, it's definitely a repainted shell-less G9x.
