Basically you chose a category to sort by and then can further sort that category into others. The general idea here is to address questions like "what are some fingertip grip mice for under $40?", etc. What do you guys think, useful? Are there one or two other categories that should be included?

Well if finish the primary filters, doing the sub filters would actually be pretty easy as it's just copy-pasting a couple of entries at that point. I can't see it being more than 30 minutes extra. -edit: Oh and btw, I'm looking to re-do some of the formatting on the OP, I'm open to suggestions. So far I've stayed away from the all-filter format like the Computer Build Resource Thread has, seems to me to be more convinient to have categories visable. But I'll take any input under advisement (meaning I won't necessarily take the advice but I will listen ![]()

Your formatting seems fine. I guess using colour coding would take away the need for a grip filter (eg. red for claw, green for palm). Including the word price after every mouse isn't necessary. Having a mouse and price column would also be nice though I'm not sure how feasible that is. edit: oh you were talking about the op >.>

Now I got storm and it's so incredibly comfortable, accurate and small, just perfect mouse. I definitely recommend it for everyone. Btw, I recently owned 3 mouses which all are good for starcraft: Abyssus, zowie mico and cm storm spawn and I can say that spawn > mico > abyssus. So I would say get spawn storm or mico. Mico which I had, had horrible mouse wheel but it was so small and comforable, and clicks were just excellent. I would say if they fixed mouse wheel, get mico for SC. But overall imo storm spawn is best for me!

I heard the Logitech G500 has weights you can add to the mouse, but I have no idea if that would make it easier or more difficult in a high APM game like SC. More stress on your hand? Or more control? Personal preference. Being able to adjust weight to a degree is a boon for me, I like a heavier mouse than most. Choosing a mouse, aside from a very few specific things, is entirely subjective. A heavier mouse WILL increase fatigue at first, but can increase precision and comfort once you adjust.

Or more control? What Jingle said mostly, but if I could offer an opinion that is probably opposite of his, I used to game with a Performance MX, which is one of the heaviest mice out there. Also for reference I am a mid sens player (800CPI) with a claw/fingertip hybrid grip for SC. Invariably I found that after prolonged usage, that I started to notice the development of symptoms of both trigger finger and RSI with my PMX and it became necessary for my health to get a more suitable mouse (both lighter and smaller in my case). I was also intensely playing SC like 4-7hrs a day and for extended periods. Once I got my new mice I immediately noticed a huge reduction in strain, and now 3 months later I am so happy for the change. This of course is my personal experience, and will not be exactly the same for everyone as CPI, grip, mousepad, and a bunch of other factors play a role in how this plays out.

Yeah, but that's purely based on subjective factors, which will include posture, desk, even your hand and arm. I spend many hours at my PC, and a heavy mouse helps me due to my grip, as it lets me stay precise with a gentler grip. But again, that's why I said it's all subjective. I'm a firm supporter of adjustable weight, whether you adjust up or down. It's one of the most critical factors for me in mousing comfort. Ultimately, it comes down to taste.

I'm pretty noob here when it comes to these specs with mice. Can someone explain or link me some sort of tutorial?

And how do you guys apply calculations for mice and determine which mouse is better based on those factors? Lately I've been thinking about whether or not to get Razer Abyssus or CM Storm Spawn. I find it hard to decide because all I've thought about was that they both have same max DPI and they're both claw-grip. When I did some research I saw people making calculations and stuff involving LOD, PCS, and even comparing sensor types?? I'm pretty noob here when it comes to these specs with mice. Can someone explain or link me some sort of tutorial? If you could read you would see that the choice between those two mouses is obvious.

Can someone explain or link me some sort of tutorial? LOD means lift-off distance. It's the height that you have to lift the mouse for it to stop tracking, usually measured in millimeters or cd's (about 1.5mm). Most people prefer it to be a small as possible. PCS means perfect control speed. It the highest speed you can move the mouse and still have the cursor to respond to your movements. With perfect control speed, higher is always better, but for SC2 or RTS in general, it doesn't matter much. Both the Abyssus and the Strorm Spawn both have very good sensors. The abyssus has a fairly high LOD, while the Spawn has a fairly low PCS (depending on firmware used). The biggest difference between the Abyssus and the Spawn is the shape. The Spawn is very short and wide, whereas the Abyssus is a lot narrower. Hope this helps ![]() Edit: Also the abyssus has been known to have jitter problems, so in a worst case scenario you might have to have your mouse replaced.
