I have an 8 GB iPod nano 4g that I use mostly to listen to audiobooks. A friend sent me some .m4b files, which Sharepod recognized as audio and happily copied to my iPod. Although they've been copied over, I cannot find them from the iPod menu.
Does the m4b format include some kind of copy protection? I'm sure I can find a program that allows me to convert to mp3 or maybe use itunes to burn them to a CD before ripping them back to mp3, but I'd like to understand if there's a reason they won't work as is.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?
