1) cleared all my temp folders 2) updated window 7 to the latest one 3) updated the optional drivers for my video card thru Windows 7 4) uninstalled the game completely 5) reinstalled the game, and left the CD in So far its been the whole day and I haven't crashed at all. And I played about 8-12 games. 3v3 and 4v4 with high graphics. So the people that are crashing may want to give this a try. And I had multiply memory crashes it was never just one.

I have been playing almost every day since day one without any problem. Well, the only problem I had was, after some hours of playin', the game would crash due to some lack of memory (I have 2Gb of RAM). I fixed that problem by closing the game after a few hours of playing, than starting it again. Now, on October 4, the game would not even load the login screen: I'd get a looping sound, the background rendered (without the battlecruiser) frozen and the game wouldn't respond. My PC did not freeze, only the game. Tried again with no AV or Firewall running and it still does this. Today (6 oct.) I launched the game and I got a nice Window saying (in short): Instruction to "0x00bdac42" is using "0x044050bc". Memory cannot be "read". I did not do any updates whatsoever. Also, I have minimal process & services running in the background. So, anyone know the real reason? This is a recent problem form what I gathered all around. I hope to be able help & contribute as I'll try to fix it on my side. To everyone reading this, please contribute! Thanks! TESTING (Will keep this part updated) : 1. I did a MemTest 86+ for 11 pass (about 8-9 hours) and got ZERO errors. My system have been running smoothly for the past 4 years, dunno why that'd change now :D 2. My system NEVER, ever over heated since I own it. CPU is around 27 to 42°C. Graph cards around 40-58°C 3. Defraged the Hard Drive: changes nothing and I know it's not related, but I was due for one so why not post it... :D 4. [Added on 6-10-2010] I just verified my SC2 Log folder and guess what? Since October 3, all the errors are "Internal Battle.net Error". 5. [Added on 6-10-2010] OOOk... game is now WORKING. I did nothing; I did log into my Blizzard account to post on the forum and while trying to remember the error I had, I thought about taking a screenshot. So I started the game, and guess what? I was starting for real. My Antivirus/Firewall (Comodo) gave me a strange warning saying an application had a buffer overflow and may be an attack: I said skip this application (SC2) and now everything seems to work. What did I do? What happened? Comodo shouldn't be the problem, I had it running since I bought SC2 AND I did try the game without it. My PC was NOT the cause so I wanna find out what happened... X. Things I DIDN'T do to make it work : SC2 file edit, driver updates, chipset update, checkdisk,

Also Many people's problems (and SC2 patches) seem to address sound related problems. So I'll a try to your lil hack. Thanks!

Looping sound is a red herring. It just means that the application (or kernel, if your PC froze entirely) has stopped responding to requests to refill the audio buffer. This is natural for a crash. Usual guidelines apply. Run memtest, run Prime95 torture tests, Disable overclocks & core unlocks, check temps and voltages, try another PSU.
