There's more options, but you should be leaving them locked if you're already bored. Afterburner is good. Actually, until recently, it was better than Precision, which is now playing catch up. And anything else would be excessive or worse. I'm not already bored, Medrea mentioned increasing all the options by 5mhz, so i assumed by "all" he meant more than 2. He's also a miner, he could have been referencing increasing a dozen or two cards by 5 each. Just stick with core GPU clock unless you plan to do more research. And by "already bored" I was referencing you calling it dull. I doubt you've got the interest in the process, or the specific drive needed to mess with anything else much. Unless you plan to do a LOT of benchmarking, rinsing, and repeating, sticking with the core clock is the best bet. And most people don't ever need to mess with anything else anyways. Ok :D I don't find much fun in taking months tweaking settings to get the best overclock, but that's just me.

No I was talking about just core clock. I dont touch mem clock for gaming unless I know exactly what target value I want to be at.
For my miners I set the mem clock to a formula based on the core clock speed. Usually end up downclocking all the way to around, eh 343 mhz or so.
At the moment I use aoclbf. But CGminer has a tool that you can set clock speeds and fan speed directly inside of it.

That was my point. If it's not your thing, you don't need more options. Oh, if you'd like a good jumping off point for your OCs on a GPU, look what the typical factory OC is set to, and go incrementally from there rather than stock.

And almost nobody should mess with mem clock for gaming anyway, since for your voltage, you're pretty much guaranteed to get more performance from the core clock in almost all circumstances. And it takes WAY more interest in this stuff than he seems to have.

I thought i was done :/.... no?

No one is ever truly done overclocking.

I don't know, are you? I was just mentioning that as a footnote kind of on my suggested process for doing it. Obviously if you've finished already you don't need a place to start.
|
Well, i thought i was done because i think i've found a stable, high overclock, but we'll find that out after i've ran the test for 8 hours. Its probably definitely not optimised but i'm honestly not too bothered about the small differences that can be had for changing it very slightly.

Particularly when you're making money off it.
Speaking of which 7950 is pretty good at mining dontcha know. Not like I am advocating anything.

Fine. Just file it under "Dark wizardry."

At $170, it's terrible lol.
|
I don't even -.-
Man they are really trying to make money off of numbers here on this one.
|
6850 is pretty similar i think, but about $20 cheaper.

Never to be understood by us normal folk.
When is the 78xx series supposed to be released? Isn't it soon?
|
Most likely during Cebit.
|
|
The first two results on Google are quite relevant.
CeBIT is a yearly computer/electronics/IT expo or trade show. It's the start of March, so soon.
|
Center for something (forgot what B stands for since it's German) for IT and Telecommunication, it's an expo for computers (so like Blizzcon and E3 except its for computers).
