No monitor, PSU, OS, or GPU needed needed.
What is the best I can get whit this set up?
Whats your PSU, GPU and monitor resolution? Is it going to be mainly gaming you do?

Do you care about 6.0gbps sata ports/usb3.0 micro-atx vs. atx?

Do you know what make/brand of PSU it is, because that is kind of important. Aside from that, what you are looking at is something like:
Phenom II X4 955 2x2GB DDR3 Ram Antec 300 or something similar Spinpoint F4 320GB or Spinpoint F3 1TB Generic DVD RW 870 motherboard with USB3/SATA3

The OP says that there is no need for more than 4 gb RAM. Does everybody agree with that? Even in 3v3 or 4v4 games? Im getting a new pc and with 4 gb being the standard im inclined to get more, of course if there really isent any reason Id rather save the money.
I wont be needing the RAM for anything other than gaming.

Games are still 32-bit applications so they won't use any more than around 1.5-2.0 GB max no matter what's going on. 4 GB is the standard for gaming computers just because 2 GB isn't quite enough, 3 GB is an awkward number, and 2x2 GB RAM kits aren't that expensive.

I want to get a new computer because my current one is over 3 years old now and wasn't even high end back then.
I was thinking of something like this but cheaper. I don't think I'll need 6 GB RAM and 1 TB HDD should be more than enough.
More info: + Show Spoiler +Budget: up to 1100€ (~1500$)
Resolution: 1280x1024 (two monitors) currently but might buy a new monitor in the future.
Using it for: Mostly gaming but also for university stuff like programming/running simulations. Photoshop occasinally (working on pictures > 4000x4000 px).
Upgrade cycle: I usually don't upgrade. I'll buy a new comp in 3-4 years and give the old one to my parents or something.
When: Now, but I could wait one or two months if it makes a difference.
No overclocking/SLI or stuff like that.
No OS needed.
Buying from: arlt.com most likely because they have a shop here. Would buy somewhere else if it's reasonably cheaper.
I'd prefer an Intel CPU, nVidia GPU.
Any advice?

I wouldn't order from that shop you posted. I skimmed through it and it was very expensive.
From personal experience I can recommend mindfactory.de and hoh.de. Mindfactory is best imo (no shipping costs if you order after 12pm).

I'm thinking of creating a computer for my parent's HDTV, with which we could download and watch movies /shows, and browse the internet from the couch. I've considered buying a mac mini, but figured it would be better to build my own.
So HD graphics and storage capacity are the main priorities here. Enough processing power for streaming flash videos well, but nothing beyond that -- no intense gaming or photoshopping.
Also, is there a better way to go about this? Should I just get a PS3 and do netflix streaming? How will the regular videos I download (torrent) appear on a 46'' 1080p screen? Has anyone else done this?
What is your budget? < $600 preferably, but definitely < $1000 What is your resolution? 1080p - 1920 x 1080 HD What are you using it for? streaming, watching hd shows, browsing the internet What is your upgrade cycle? as little as possible When do you plan on building it? asap Do you plan on overclocking or add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? no Do you need an Operating System? yes Where are you buying your parts from? newegg, or any other recommended online site
Thank you.

If you want to look around online, a lot of people have HTPC (home theater PC) setups that are very similar to what you are doing. Several vendors already sell pre-configured systems for this purpose, but the price and performance isn't anything better than what you could build on your own. Mostly it's the small size of those machines that's attractive.
For your needs you probably don't need any graphics capabilities beyond what a Core i3 has. I don't think anything fancier than this is necessary, and that includes Blu-Ray, a remote control (of course you can plug in a mouse/keyboard and use that), and a TV tuner.
If you were to build your own and wanted a tower computer with room for upgrades (e.g. more HDDs), something like this would work:+ Show Spoiler +

So, I had been planning on getting one of the next generation Intel SSDs when they dropped, but with the recent news of them being delayed until February, I think I'm going to go with something else. I'm leaning towards either an 80GB or 120GB Sandforce drive, but I do have a few questions.
First, I haven't kept up quite as closely as I should have for the past couple months, so I was wondering if there were any other SSD improvements rumored for the very near future. I know Intel is supposed to be dropping a 120GB Gen 2 soon, but I suspect it'll be on price parity with the Sandforce counterparts and the Sandforce performance edge makes me lean towards that, as the Sandforce controller seems close to, if not as good, as Intel's.
Second, has Intel - or anybody else, for that matter - figured out how to pass TRIM to SSDs in RAID? I'm pretty sure that would've been pasted on every tech site from here to North Korea, but hey.
Third, why am I always *just* too slow to get the Guerilla Deals I want on Newegg? Okay, that's not serious, but the last two items I've wanted that have been Guerilla Deals have sold out during the time it took me to get from my cart to confirming payment ... and I have everything cookied. That 80GB Phoenix this weekend for $130 had me aroused. T_T

The very cheap student deal is over now I think, but you can still get Windows 7 Professional upgrade for $65. Apart from that, sites like newegg also sell Windows 7, just look for the OEM version of home premium which is $90-100. If you are buying other parts too, you can usually combo it on newegg for another $10-25 off.
