If its pricing holds it will be much easier to recommend than the 580. If.pricing.holds. Now I just need to find out how it hashes. By previous indications the 7970 should be a hashing monster. Anandtech figures drivers are holding the card back, no surprises there I guess, so maybe another set of benchmarks have to be done, who knows.

Unfortunately, we aren’t able to speak to the value of several others, or even confirm that they work. AMD rushed this launch to an extent that I don’t think we’ve ever seen before. First, it preempted the introduction of Windows 8, which will realize the Radeon HD 7000-series’ DirectX 11.1 support. Then, it pulled in its debut so far that its software partners—the ones responsible for enabling important stuff like the Video Codec Engine—couldn’t react fast enough to facilitate testing. AMD even jumped the gun on its own driver team. We have to tell you about important features coming in future builds because they’re simply not ready yet. At the very same time, AMD doesn’t have enough Radeon HD 7970 boards on hand to allow for testing Tahiti in CrossFire. Sounds like no one was really prepared at all for the launch. No idea why they did a paper launch like this to be honest, nVidia isn't really quaking in its boots with this release. Still really cool to see the tech actually working though.

Some of that is kind of a luxury problem. Delays are getting too common so this is a refreshing issue to have. Still a problem obviously. But even with it's problems if it MSRP's less than a 580, it'll make money, and more importantly competition. If it performs even better with good support 4 months from now, all of that is gravy.

Is this a rush because of the AMD bulldozer fail? They wanna proove they still can do good things?

It seems more like a halfassed review of an amd build.

So I guess they got..... the graphics card right? Not to mention that going AMD they'd have been much better off with a phenom x6 that also overclocks better, bulldozer doesn't even work with like 10 games at all so having it in a gaming build is a joke oh and I wouldnt buy a high-end mobo from that manufacturer and it's overpriced either way.

I guess other people have higher standards than me; personally, if I were playing at 120 fps, I don't think I would notice an occasional drop to 80 fps that often. If microstuttering is such an issue, then maybe SLI? It would still be vastly more economical, even if the GTX 560 is marginally more expensive than the 6870; SLI doesn't seem to suffer quite as much from micro-stuttering as Crossfire does.
