Also trolling the tech salesmen sure is addicting, I need to keep doing this! ^-^ Maybe bully them with silly questions as well!

Figure out which salesperson knows his shit and doesn't suggest ripoffs. Hold onto that one guy forever.

Edit: Of course most people don't know what they're talking about. The computer industry doesn't make hardware easy to understand and even tech experts like that NCIX Linux guy say some absolutely incorrect stuff. What you think is elementary is very complex for many people. In the cases you listed, its obvious they're trying to sell expensive/EOL hardware under the orders of the manager. This is not new, this is like how retail earns money.

Trust me if you are good in the field people will follow you outside the company should it ever happen.

I'm not sure about Europe but most dedicated computer hardware retailers in Australia do not run on commission. You can only guess the quality of customer service there. They've got no incentive to help you and those in high street stores are too general purpose to know enough about the hardware anyway. Going into a store just to "troll" these people is what a sociopath would do. Overpriced businesses, like audiophile stores, can generally get away with acting as good samaritans. Profit margins are huge so you only need to sell a few hardware to a small, but dedicated, client base to earn a lot of money. Obviously have return customers here is great. Computer retailers are not these stores. You either go prepared to pay extra for good customer service or do research beforehand. A salesman doesn't exist to make you happy, he's there to sell hardware for the company.

And nah it's equivelent to going to macdonals and ordering the big mac without cucumber although i could pick it out just fine, only to make sure it's warm instead of one of the ones they have waiting(and i do this every single time, it's good to make people earn their salary ;P) They really call them cucumbers in Finland? We call them pickles. (I know same vegetable but still)

Salesmen know the basics from the training given by the company. Beyond that, they know nothing of worth since the computer industry exists on ripping people off with confusing nomenclature. At the end of the day they are just retail workers doing a job they most likely dislike. If you want people who know what they are talking about go to an expensive computer store run by mum and dad types or actual enthusiasts. So yeah thanks for proving that you're a sociopath with that McD's story. (Pickles are cucumbers)

Bit Fenix Merc Alpha i5 2400 ASRock H61M-VS G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600 (already abought, I realize the board only handles up to 1333) PowerColor 6870 WD Caviar Blue 500gb 7200rpm OCZ 500w PSU I feel like it's a pretty balanced build, but I'm also at the point where I'm trying to be sensible. What if I skimp on the processor? Say an i3 2100? Will having dual core be able to handle a possible 720 stream. When I run games/stream, I'll only ever have music(probably Pandora/Grooveshark) and maybe news or TL as tabs open. I want a true gaming rig. I also want to be able to run Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2 on High. I'm not the biggest nut on running Ultra to be honest. I just don't want anything bottlenecked or a loss of fps due to a lacking part. I'm not gonna upgrade this beast. It's just going to need to last me 2 years. If you could please recommend me an optimal cpu/gpu for my needs. Thanks in advance.

Warning (just because somebody complained later once): H61M-VS does not support Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Ethernet and only has one PCIe 1x slot in addition to the PCIe 16x slot for the graphics card. Make sure you don't require USB3, SATA3, or other features. That looks good though, other than possibly the power supply.

Here's the exact link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341016&Tpk=ocz 500w So if not the H61M-VS, you'd recommend the Biostar H61MGC? Also, any thoughts on my other concerns regarding if it's worth it to just go i3 or diff gpu?
