Coolermaster 212+ is not a case, its a CPU heatsink. Monitor and motherboard are completely unrelated.
H67 has proper SATA3 implementation and 4x RAM slots. That's about it. If you're going to put a SATA3 SSD into your machine, I would honestly get the H67 motherboards. Otherwise, H61 is more than fine.
Out of the options you have provided, I would honestly pick the Asus or cheapest Gigabyte motherboard. Just know that the Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2's SATA ports are physically inaccessible once you install the GPU.

ah yea- sorry bout that fixed
Out of curiosity which motherboard should i get? Getting a 1 tb hitachi SATA 2 HD, i52400, coolermaster 212+, 2x4 GB ram(i dont think 1333 or 1600 ram matters as the motherboard will max out at w.e it can handle right?), HD radeon 6870, antec neo eco 520W power supply, cheapest cd/dvd drive i can find, not sure on monitor yet(but i dont think motherboard choice affects that right, correct me if im wrong). Fitting all this into a coolermaster 430 case
trying to decide between a h67 or a h61 (probably going to get a h61 as its about 30-40 cheaper, unless any one can tell me the advantages of getting the h67 with what i have currently listed as my parts, or in general)
what i'm trying to choose between in spoiler. What are the advantages of paying more, as they all seem to be similar. And Cant they handle the graphics card I've chosen? Leaning toward the Asus as suggested
+ Show Spoiler +
Thanks for any help you guys can give me. This thread has been very helpful

Read above. I'd pick the Asus P8H61-M LE/CSM R3. It uses Realtek chipsets for audio/LAN that are practically guaranteed to work. Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 is another option if you must save that lunch money but it uses shitty chipsets.

What is your budget?
My Budget would be of 1,000
What is your resolution?
I actually need help on this one. I would plugg in the PC on a LED 22 inch, and im not sure how to check my gaming resolution, Im a noob on this area specifically.
What are you using it for?
Mostly gaming would say 85% gaming, other things is to store music, store movies/videos and webb brows such as facebook, etc. Oh and I almost forgot also might use it for works of college. Depends if I will not sell my current laptop.
What is your upgrade cycle?
2 years maybe 1 and a half if it is completely necessary wish i hope it wont be.
When do you plan on building it?
5 months can start buying some stuff soon if necessary.
Do you plan on overclocking?
I don't really know how to overclock, but if I can do it easily without harming the pc and the graphics and speed is highly increased then I might do it a couple of times but not a lot of times.
Do you need an Operating System?
No
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
Not in the near future maybe in a upgrade but not now.
Where are you buying your parts from?
I am from Puerto Rico, it is considered part of the United States but it is not for shipping (But may move to live in the US later on, that is why im thinking on the months to buy it if now or when I am stable in the US)
|
What is your budget?
700 to 900 US Dollars.
What is your resolution?
I play on a 1920x1080 monitor.
What are you using it for?
Gaming, mainly blizzard games (sc2 and diablo III), counter strike, dota, and maybe streaming.
What is your upgrade cycle?
I'll probably build a new system after college in like three years or so.
When do you plan on building it?
I plan on building it as soon as possible, but I'm willing to wait until after Christmas for better deals and what not.
Do you plan on overclocking?
Doubt it.
Do you need an Operating System?
I'm not sure about the OS because my school supposedly supplies Engineering students with Windows 7 Keys, but I have not confirmed this myself. But, just to make things easier, just assume I have one.
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
Nah.
Where are you buying your parts from?
Probably Newegg and Fry's Electronics since there is one by my house, but as long as the seller has good reviews and is based in the United States (where I live), I have no problem with it.
Random sidenote, first time building a computer and pretty nooby when it comes to just about everything.

Ask again in five months because half of the components suggested now will be irrelevant in five months. Pricing now is also going to be irrelevant in five months.

Ask again whenever you plan on building since components suggested and the pricing they are situated at now won't be relevant.

The winzip thing is a page right out of bitcoin mining.
I think the card comes equipped with a second processor so when you idle it can shut down the main GPU completely.
I like how they put the 3D images over the bezel. Lets just hope they dont shoot themselves in the foot with drivers.
|
Im looking into buying a new mobo + processor or just a video card ; my question is what would improve my FPS in games (general games not just SC2) more ? the processor or the video card?
I have an i5 750 @ 2,6 GHz and nvidia GTX 460 1gb.
|
Have prices been leaked/announced for the 7xxx cards yet? I've searched on Google but I get varying price differences.

That's probably because it can apparently power three 3D monitors with a single card which is why you have DP and only one DVI port I guess. It can finally do Eyefinity with three different sized monitors properly too, which should be interesting for games like WoW.

Between Kepler being non-existent, 28nm being immature, and likely poor yields, they're going to be very expensive. No official prices but people are expecting the MSRP to be released around 22nd December.
|
Considering Kepler isnt coming out until like... probably next christmas, I'd guess the 79xx will be 500€/400€. And if the performance is as expected(50% above 6970) it should be worth it

I mean what do people do with cases? Use em for keggers? Make a bong out of them? Build a dirtbike jump with it?
Every so often, I'll get a new case just because I lose parts.
For example, I'm seriously considering a new case because I lost the 5.25 to 3.5 faceplate adapters. I'm also missing some screws from disassembling a few times. Nothing too major, but still. :-/

Both of those are fairly recent, are you unhappy with your performance, or do you just want to upgrade? If you're unhappy, what games do you play and what settings are you looking to get?

From what I've read pricing will be something like this: 7970 - $499 7950 - $399 7870 - $299 7850 - $199 from http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/Some-Details-About-AMD’s-7000-Series-Graphics-Cards-Leak-Internet I hope it's wrong though, they're all pretty steep. At these prices, unless they absolutely blow the 6000 series out of the water, I might prefer a 6870 for $160 ($140 amir). Maybe AMD is trying to take advantage of being first to 28 nm.
I think more information on the 7900 series will be coming on the 22nd of December with the cards shipping on Jan 9th. The 7800 series looks like it's slated for February
edit: rats, beaten

Steep? 7850 supposed to be better than 6970 at 200$...

Not looking into upgrading atm, just looking to see what will improve my performance more in the future when I'll need to upgrade. But I guess thats a silly question since we dont really know how good the new processors or video cards will be
What Im really asking is whats more important for gaming, processor or video card ?

for most games upgrading the graphics card would help the most but gtx 460 is still quite good. I'd probably sli it if you can find one for cheap
