Fractal Design has a lot of good will with computer builders with good cases ideas (I know that their very nice mITX case comes with a 300W Seasonic PSU so they're not huge corner cutters) and pretty amazing feature ideas for the offered prices so I'm willing to trust that it'll run a computer reliably.
From what I can understand from the Sweclockers review, its a FSP PSU with longer than usual connectors and good efficiency (both of these things are good). Ripple values are rather high but they still ran within spec but that's kind of what you expect from these low end budget PSUs.
Ok i see, thank you !

Well here's what my build is looking like so far: + Show Spoiler +GPU not in because I'm working on cable routing. ![[image loading]](http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n116/UhhNegative/utf-8BSU1HLTIwMTEwNjE3LTAwMDA0LmpwZw.jpg)

I didn't get the joke with the previous picture but I guess it was just a mistake lol.
Uh are you sure you want to mount your heatsink that way? The intake fan is going to get blocked by the graphics card and basically every component in there will be fighting for the air that's at the bottom of the case. It's better to do a front to back mounting.

It probably wouldn't be too hard to just redo it right? Would I have to reapply thermal paste? Plus, it would make sense to switch it because I have two intake fans on the front so it would "go with the flow" haha.
Haha the other picture was something I was posting in another forum. I'm surprised you saw it because I fixed it within 30 seconds.

Yes, you would want to clean the thermal paste off and re-apply it. Not sure if you would have to re-install the mounting plate or not though.

There's nothing wrong with mounting it that way, any difference in temperatures will be minimal and can probably be chalked up do poor mounting or thermal paste application. That looks like an Antec 300 and it has 2x top exhausts so its not going to matter.
No do not bother to readjust it, there is no point to it. I will fight this to the death if need be.
Only problems will come from removing and adding the extra fan, especially if your heatsink uses wire clips, since you have to be careful not to bump the GPU.

Hi, this is what i have come up with so far
Gigabyte GA-PH67A-UD3 Intel Core i5 2400 Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333MHz 4GB Fractal Design Integra 500W PSU Samsung SpinPoint F3 500GB Sony Optiarc DVD±RW Burner Antec 300 AMD Radeon HD 6850
My resolution is 1680-1050 and games i play/ will play is: Starcraft 2, Source games, Diablo 3 and maybe bf3 (not neccasary to play bf3 at max).
So i was wondering if it is worth getting a better graphic card then the 6850 since im playing at 1680-1050 Like a 6870, 560 ti etc etc.
Thanks!

The 6850 can handle games at 1080p at reasonable settings so no there is no point in getting a GTX 560 Ti.

Well I'm not too sure how well I applied the thermal paste or how well I mounted it. I just did the best I could. I might have put a little too much thermal paste on. It was a thin layer on the CPU but maybe not thin enough. I think maybe I should've just put 3 lines on my heat pipes and did it that way. It was kind of strange because the screws to tighten the cooler onto the CPU are like thumb screws with no way to tighten further with a screw driver and they are the right screws according to the instructions. Guess I'll find out how it does when I get it booted up.
I drove all over town this morning to find screws to mount my optical drive and finally found them.

What is your budget?
Around 950€
What is your resolution?
1920x1080
What is your upgrade cycle?
1-2 years
When do you plan on building it?
Now
Do you plan on overclocking?
Yes , i would overclock my CPU
Do you need an Operating System?
I dont actualy know if i need one ... i bought this My Windows 7 (german site) with my other computer ... Can i use it on my other aswell`?
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
Dont think so.
Where are you buying your parts from?
I prefer hardwareversand.de / amazon.de if i buy the parts separately i would have to bring it to a local computer store to let someone build it together for me (i know how to install HDD/GPU/RAM )
I also want to go for Intel/Nvidia .... what i builded till now :
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Fk0V8.png)
Here are my thoughts on it CPU: i actually plan on going for 2500k Mainbord: just a placeholder Cooler : just a placeholder RAM: want 8GB Case: looks good for airflow/and look (maybe theres a better one?!) Power Supply: Placeholder?! GPU: 560 seems to be my pricerange ?! maybe another version of it?! HDD: 1TB is enough for me ... maybe ill add an SSD later DVD: meh +20€ for installing from hardwareversand.de
As u can see theres still more room up ... but i dont know if i have to add windows7 to it
Thanks in advance :D !

Better to get 2x4GB instead of 4x2GB. Less sticks = less stress = less chance of faulty memory.
The rest of the components are reasonable choices.
You can re-use your Windows 7, you will just need to call Microsoft to get them to reactivate it.

Okay so any "small" tips then?! Cuz on some parts i didnt realy think on ... like for example the mainboard ... i just choosed that one because it was around 100€ but is it any good for OC?! Also on the other parts who were marked as placeholders :D
If i "reactivate" my Windowds7 ... does it mean it gets disabled at my other computer ... because iam still going to use the other one !

Alright, I might have a problem.
When my computer is on, if I touch the back part of the case or a bolt on the back on the case it shocks me. This is not normal, right? The weird thing is that it doesn't shock it when I touch it with my finger but only my arm.
What could be wrong?

You "might" have a problem... Have you ever won any awards for your talent in understatement?
As for how you touch it, well, conductivity is weird sometimes.
Sounds like a grounding issue, but it could be coming from anywhere. Wrap up loose cables and make sure they aren't touching metal for starters.

Now that I think about it, it's probably one of the power supply cables I'm not using. I hope.
Also, I cannot mount this stupid ISO onto the flash drive. I've already made it bootable and I have Daemon Tools Lite. But from here, I don't know what to do.
edit: I figured it out, I think. I'm copying the files from the mounted image to my flash drive now.

@Onioncookie
A Windows 7 license can only be tied to one computer at a time so if you want to have two computers, you'll need two licenses.
Not good with European pricing but from shortly browsing around:
Corsair TX650 V2 is less expensive: http://www1.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=46158&agid=1629
ASUS low-end motherboards aren't really known for having a great value. Gigabyte P67 UD3, Z68 D3H, Asrock P67 Pro3, Z68 Pro3, MSI P67 G series all provide better value than the low-end ASUS boards.
Noctua is a good choice but expensive. A Coolermaster Hyper 212+ would be adequate for overclocking the 2500k.
Most cases do provide adequate airflow so this comes down to your wants and needs.

This is a stupid question, but the arrow on a fan shows the direction the air is blowing, right? Just making sure I have my CPU fan on correct. I have the arrow facing the heatsink.

Hello guys
A quick rundown of my current setup and then a few questions I'm certain several of you can help me with.
Setup:
Athlon II X4 630 2.82 GHz Radeon HD 5850 Gskill 4GB RAM ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 Antec 650W 80 PLUS
Questions:
1. I want to upgrade the processor to a Phenom X6 3.3. That was what I set out to do at first. Am I correct in assuming that's my weakest link?
2. Is my HD 5850 outdated now? Can I double it up with another card for a decent price? What would be a good recommendation? Can I go up to the 6xxx series and still have it be compatible with my current card?
3. I want more RAM but 2x 2GB sticks are tough to find. I see 2x4GB everywhere though. Can I buy a set of 4GB sticks and add them? Is that optimal?
I want to run Battlefield 3, very well. I currently have no issues with running any current game at max settings. From Bad Company 2 to Crysis 2 to Shogun 2, it all runs smoothly. Should I be as worried as I am about BF3?
Thanks for your time.

@Kollapse
Yes, the processor would be your weakest link atm.
The 5850 is still a very strong card. You cannot do CrossfireX across generations. You'll need a second Radeon 5850 to do CrossfireX. If you plan on upgrading to a better performing single graphics card, that would be a Radeon 6950 or 6970.
Your motherboard is DDR3. 2x2GB kits aren't hard to find. These can be found everywhere for under $40.
