You could give the Silverstone TJ08 a go, it fits a GTX570 so your card should have any problems clearing. They're releasing a new version sometime soon I believe where it has a front 180mm intake fan and a different motherboard layout, well it was at Computex at least.
Small cases are generally more viable for gaming because they're far easier to cool.

Again it depends on whether the heatsink is direct touch or not but yes it is the correct amount for non direct touch heatsinks.
|
What about for direct touch?

Did you not even skim through the article I linked? You apply thin lines between the pipes.

All installed :D
What would be a safe temperature to OC my I5-2500k to? I was thinking 4-4.5 would be safe, am I right?
ty!
(Ps : Temperatures are sitting 35-40 on idle, and 60 when fully loaded with Torture test, with a 4.5 oc)
What would be the minimum to run perfectly SC2? I'll just OC when bf3 comes out ^^

It depends on what voltage you achieved 4.5GHz at but you could probably go higher.
|
I really am not sure/confident how to modify the voltage, so I let it Auto.
CPU-Z says i'm at 1.336 volt. Is that too high?

It's a reasonable voltage. You can try to see if 4.5 will boot at a lower voltage or go up to 4.6 at the same voltage.
|
I've lowered it to 1.25 and it shows 1.232 in CPUZ. Will lower volt lower the temperature?

NM, blue screen of death while trying to play SC2. Upped the voltage back to 1.3

Hi.
So I just got my new computer, and put everything together, but I have 1 issue so far it seems. When I screw my graphics card into my case, I get no video display. With screws out of the card I do.
I have a GTX 570 and a Antec 900 Two case.
So I guess my question is, is it fine to leave the gpu unscrewed? This is my first build and I'm still skeptical of everything working right lol. Installing windows on it right now..
Thanks for any help

You can try using small zipties, but no, it's a terrible idea to have it unsupported, bumping your case could seriously damage your motherboard or GPU. But, since it's shorting, you should probably RMA the card to begin with.
|
Whats RMA? Oh- return. Well I guess I may need to but it seems like a case issue?
|
Does the graphics card seat awkwardly when you screw it in place? What about using screws with a rubber washer?
|
When I try to screw it in, the card shifts out of place it seems. Havent tried a rubber washer I'll look to see if I have some.

This might have been useful to mention in the first post. I was assuming it was sitting right but shorting for some weird reason. Yes, try washers or something. Or zipties. But don't just support it with the slot.
|
Ah sorry lol. I put some zipties in. Thanks for the help guys

Obviously this isn't a strict computer build question, but didn't want to make an entire thread. Running my 6970 in extreme in SC2 and getting ~110 fps. Trying to override AA settings in catalyst to 4xeq AA and 4x AF and taking a pretty big hit (~60 fps). This is far larger than other games I've tested with it. Does SC2 take a bigger performance hit than most other games with AA?

It depends on whether the game is Nvidia or AMD bias and Blizzard games have always been Nvidia bias as far as I can remember.
