However, I think they might have less PCI slots.

Xigmatek Gaia @ $30 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835233082&Tpk=Xigmatek gaia What type of games are you going to play, and at what resolution? If your budget is 800-900, you wouldn't want an SSD, a WD Black HDD would be enough. If you are playing SC2, and not streaming, the i3-2100 would be enough for your needs since it is a budget build. If you are going for the i3-2100, you'll want a H61/67 motherboard. If you are going for the GTX 460, your configuration wouldn't draw more than 350w. And you could go for - Corsair CX430 V2 @$45 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026&cm_re=corsair_cx_v2-_-17-139-026-_-Product Again, we'll need your resolution and the types of games you wish to play, as the graphics card/processor/motherboard choice would differ greatly.

I don't plan to overclock, so would then a i5 - 2300 be better? i also changed around some of the part i decided to get. With most of the changes i'm under $600 now which includes the mail-in rebates and doesn't include tax+shipping. - Motherboard o $124.99 – instant discount $10($114.99) MSI P67A-C43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130571&cm_re=P67-_-13-130-571-_-Product This over the mother board i had originally. I'm not completely sure if its a good match for the cpu. I'll change my power supply to what you suggested too. I don't plan on streaming and the most graphic intense game i'll be playing anytime soon is SC2. If i do decide to get a 2nd GTX 460, would the configuration i have now be a problem to support it/ would it be worth it? The monitor i have right now is Resolution: 2048x1152@60Hz

Get a i5-2400, when I last checked its like $5 more than the i5 2300 with a few FPS difference which is a case where an upgrade is actually worth it. No, the suggested PSU won't work with dual GTX460 and no you shouldn't care that it won't work because don't do SLI especially since the card is already outdated.

The 460's have the potential, in some games, to do a bit better. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/314?vs=306 The hassle of SLI for the performance gains and the situations where it doesn't provide them isn't going to be worth it to most users.

Right now my setup is; Intel Q9550 XFX 6850 1GB 4 gigs of ram So I'm buying a new rig now, for streaming I would suppose the 2600K is the best, but is it really worth the money over a 2500K? (I'm not going to overclock btw, so maybe the i5 2400 is a better choice?)

Hyperthreading has marginal performance impact/gain in gaming and hence it is not worth it to spend a premium on. If you are not overclocking, there is no point getting an unlocked "K" processor. Your graphics card meet your demands. If you are streaming, you'd want at least a quad core as SC2 takes up two cores already. If you are going for the i5-2400(locked multiplier, no overclocking), get either a H61/67 motherboard.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help first off, my computer should be arriving today and I'm having a couple friends help me assemble it. Here's hoping it goes well! On an operating system note, is the $30 Windows 7 Professional deal only for an upgrade from a previous windows operating system to Windows 7 pro? I don't have a previous version of a windows operating system to upgrade from. Thanks! Narwhal

I'm debating if i should go for an 2410m i5 or 2310m i3. Both of them can handle sc2 just fine in low settings (which i use on my main PC anyway, like it that way), but the i5 has turbo boost and HT afaik. On paper, that is good, but im not sure how necessary it is, is it worth it? The price difference is almost 100$ for me. Would i5 handle streaming? Its only dual-core. But i don't want to stream HD either, my upload is pretty low. If so, that would make a difference on my decision, tho i don't really plan to stream anyway.

I have already watched so many videos on my case on youtube that I knew the case inside and out when I got it so it was no fun. It didn't come with an I/O shield I don't think...... or maybe it just came with a temporary one installed and my motherboard will come with one to replace it?
