The power cord can be bought for less than $2 at most computer stores and you probably can get one for free from your school's IT department.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I actually have about 50 of those things in storage right now. They're rather easy to get cheap. Well, it sounds like twice the cash for a PSU with only slightly more power than the CX430, which is enough for your needs if you did the calculator properly, which requires slightly more IQ than the average turnip, so I would say it's a bad deal personally. For upgrading purposes, it's not that much headroom. But, it's your money, and your PC. Cheers.

Also, the internet connection no longer works and it says there is a network adapter driver missing. I've tried googling for some solutions but I can't find any. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the help so far in this thread ^^

Sorry I'm being so difficult. I'm just worried about my PSU for some reason. It's a reasonable thing to be worried about. Just that a lot of people worry about the wrong things with it. @superiorwolf: Your network drivers should be included with your chipset drivers on a disk.

Thanks for all the help so far in this thread ^^ You need to install the NIC drivers which should have been provided on a CD by the motherboard's manufacturer. Some programs can simply be dragged and dropped but most programs will require a fresh install.

I'm not sure how Nvidia comes up with that number since watts don't mean much without also knowing the amps. I'm sure if Nvidia listed a minimum PSU for SLI 460's, they'd say more than 650w, but my PC runs. PSU calculator can account for what's actually in your system, manufacturers have to account for much more, like skyR said, and retailers will frequently give a simplified PSU calculator so they have the option of assuming much more and scaring you into buying more than you need. I wonder if the newegg PSU calculator gets paid commission?

I ordered a Rosewill Green Series PSU, I haven't received it yet, but do I need to purchase a power cord for it? Heres a link to it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182200 And if so where can I buy one? I only have a RadioShack near me.

+ Show Spoiler + What Is Your Budget? Around $2,500 AUD, but I am flexible. What Is Your Resolution? 1600 x 900 What Are You Using It For? * Gaming - Nothing too hardcore, mostly Starcraft 2 (I would like to be able to run it on high graphics setting) and a few other games. * Video and photo editing and graphic design - So i'll be running Photoshop, etc. * Audio Production - I need something with good sound quality. I'll be running software like Ableton Live, Sony Acid Pro, etc. What Is Your Upgrade Cycle? 3 or more years. When Do You Plan On Building It? I'm flexible, but sometime soon hopefully. Do You Plan On Overclocking? Nope. Do You Need An Operating System? Yes, Windows. Do You Plan To Add A Second GPU For SLI Or Crossfire? No. Where Are You Buying Your Parts From? From a local store and online. Does anyone out there have a build for me? <3
