Hmm so it says there are 6 x USB 2.0 Onboard. Does this mean that 2 more can be wired to the front or how does that work?

How would an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 operate relative to SC2? How high would I be able to get the graphics without sacrificing too much frame rate, and how well would it handle duo monitors?

Unless you need 6 cores, (You don't if you have to ask) that deal is garbage for the price point compared to Intel offerings.

Having a second monitor for messaging, browsing, word processing, anything that's not gaming or graphic intensive has no impact on performance. Or reverse fan direction from exhaust to intake? What would be the better configuration for PSU? What power supply are you referring to? The CX430 and Antec Neo? Both of those have intake fans and no you can't make them exhaust unless you open it up and change the fan yourself. Most if not all power supplies can be bottom mounted. Bottom mounting with fan facing down is the better method.

I'm a total newbie with these kind of things. I never built a computer before but this time I'm willing to spend some time learning how to do so. Anyway, since I don't know much about where to start from, I found this little guide that you guys probably already know about : http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/af150/The_FalconO6/CurrentLogicalPCBuyingGuide/Guide.png But I already don't know which build I should be aiming for.. Basically, I'm looking to be able to run sc2 at max settings (since I don't think it requires that much of a good comp?) and stream + do others random things, no professional usage whatsoever. I wish to be able to use it for 3 to 4 years (knowing of course that I will have to use medium to low settings for games by this time) About my monitor.. I'm clueless, how should I know if there's a reason to upgrade it ? At the moment, I'm using a 22'' Philips 220WS8FB which is also 3-4 years old I don't have a specific budget, I just want a build that meets what I'm looking for. I would guess/hope that it will be between 800-1000$ (without OS, mouse, keyboard, etc) (excellent-outstanding build on the guide?) I don't want anything "overkill" that I will have no use for anyway. I apologize for being that much of a noob, I hope I'm not asking too much, I'm also sorry for my poor english (not my first language), hopefully it is still understandable. I hope you guys can give me some answers and guide me a little bit in my way to build my first comp! If you have any advice/warning, feel free to share aswell ![]() Thanks skyR for the warning. Could someone suggest me a build that would allow me to run sc2 smoothly on ultra/extreme settings ? (is there much of a difference between the two..?) I'll answer the basic questions of the OP to make it easier : What is your budget? Between 1000 and 1400$ (including OS and monitor if needed) What is your resolution? As said in my first post, I'm actually using 22'' Philips 220WS8FB 1680x1050 but I'm wondering weither it is ok to keep it for the new comp or if I should get a new one for better results. What are you using it for? Also said in my first post but anyway : It is almost only for gaming and possibly do some streaming. What is your upgrade cycle? I don't plan on upgrading any time soon since I'm a noob, but once I get a little bit more used to it and parts get outdated I could try to get new ones, so in 2 years or so. When do you plan on building it? I would like to build it as soon as possible but if there's a really good reason to wait, it could be an option. Do you plan on overclocking? Again.. Since I'm a noob, I probably won't risk damaging my comp. Therefore, no overclocking for now. (Also I've read that you have to put some paste on the CPU (hope I'm not totally wrong..) if you want to do overclocking, I'd rather avoid that.) Do you need an Operating System? I will need one and sadly I don't think there's any good offers for swiss students ![]() Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? As before.. The "noob" argument is still applicable here. Therefore, no. Where are you buying your parts from? I'm from Europe/Switzerland I haven't started looking for sellers though I know some swiss ones but they're overpriced I think. Thanks in advance if anyone is kind enough as to help me for my first build ![]()

Looks like it should be enough for my build. 48A on the +12V should be sufficient. Both of those PSUs crop up in builds we give people here all the time. Those deals are smoking hot, just have to sign up for newegg email deals to be able to use the promo codes.
