i5-3570k 206€ Asrock Z75 Pro3 80€ Crucial V4 128gb 79€ or Intel 330 series 120gb 95€ Thermalright HR-02 Macho 40€ or Xigmatek Gaia 20€ so for this going from 385€ to 421€ depending on your picks you can also get a smaller SSD but i don't really see the point as the 60/64gb variants of good models in europe barely cost less then the 120/128gb models

https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=95413&action=wish_lists (hope the link works) This is intended to be a fairly powerful gaming system capable of dealing with stuff coming out through 2013 on high settings, also capable of doing video editing and streaming without much performance loss. I'm interested in whether it's worth upgrading to an I7 due to that.

It's slower then most other SSD's but also cheaper (that's what Crucial intended)

Sorry, I should have put more effort into my post ![]() yes, I plan on OCing, I use my PC mostly for gaming, other work I do is not that demanding. My GPU is 460GTS, 8gb OCZ reaper ram, 650W PSU. I am considering selling the OCZ and getting 16gb RAM with my upgrade as they are dirt cheap right now. 120gb SSD would be great if I could fit one into my budget. Thanks for your help ![]() EDIT: SLI capable mobo would be preferred.

Hell, a lot of the performance difference between the two is only noticeable by end users if they're doing large reads or writes, and given the pricing, most people are still using them mostly for random reads.

ITS SATA 2 Actually the big problem with the V4 is that it has absolutely atrocious random I/O speeds. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6325/crucial-v4-256gb-review/3. If you put any other decent SATA3 drive on a SATA2 interface, it will still feel blazing fast... the V4's problem is the speeds not interface. It's still maybe ~10 times faster than HDD's at random I/O (4K block size specifically), and roughly 2x as fast at sequential read, but definitely the most disappointing drive I've seen lately. It's not cheap enough to justify the low speed, IMO: not when the M4 is usually only ~$20 more for a massive performance improvement. Generally when shopping for SSD's, looking at speeds is not important since virtually all modern drives are extremely fast and speed differences are not really discernible in typical usage scenarios. But with the V4, it's just so slow. On January 02 2013 12:27 ORooK wrote: + Show Spoiler + hmmmmm. what's the difference betweeen these two? Is there something else I am missing? Also, I wonder which one is more preferable..? I'm almost certain that the FTW model has a bigger heatsink and fan, so it should run cooler/quieter. There's also a couple of 7970 models around that price point, just be wary of the reference blower models (loud). EDIT: I just realized you were looking at the 4GB models. Why? Are you planning on doing 2 or 3-way SLI for 5760x1080 or higher? That's the only time that much VRAM is going to yield performance benefits. 7970 is better at high resolutions anyway, though.

Geneq just wanted an upgrade, not a full build. You'll find in bold what's related to him in the quoted text. @Geneq, you should be alrighty, save for this SSD concern. Therisnosaurus wanted a full build. You'll find in italic what's related to his request @Thereisno... your build is a total mess and does not actually make any sense. You'd better fill up the formular from very first OP.

There are plenty of GPUs available that will outperform a 560 Ti, but they range from cheap, minor upgrades to the top-end models. A starting point in your search could be the 660 Ti, which performs quite a bit better than your current 560 Ti as you can see in this comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/547?vs=647 Whether this increase in performance is sufficient for your needs, I can't say. 1920x1080 60+ I'd say my budget is around $400 USD and below. looking to replace a 2 - 2 1/2 yrs old rig that has a phenom 2 x 4 and a hd5770 +4g ram. It started lagging on me a few months back. Im pretty sure ( according to Everest ) that the problem is that core #1 is dead but I dont dare upgrade it because parts I got were crap to begin with. budget is somewhere around 500$. I plan on getting rid of it in a couple years again w/e it starts lagging on me. Im somewhat of a casual gamer. I play sc2 and a bit of shooters ( CS:GO). I will not stream with it. I wont edit video or shit. Im currently gaming a 1920x1080 and would like to get decent fps like 50-60. its a basic gaming rig I need. budget is somewhat tight atm, so going over 550$ isnt an option. thanks for the input guys! mobo 55$ ASRock B75M-DGS LGA 1155 Intel B75 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157335&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10440897&PID=3067296&SID= cpu : 129 Intel Core i3-3220 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core Desktop Processor + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Description=intel%20Core%20i3-3220&bop=And&SecondSearch=1&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20 gpu 119 SAPPHIRE 100358L Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202011 ram 35 Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148544 hdd 65 Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769 cd 16 SAMSUNG DVD Burner 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 24X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM SATA Model SH-224BB - OEM + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151256 case 27 LOGISYS Computer CS206BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer SOHO Case 480W Power Supply + Show Spoiler + http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811148044
