350 USD -> 1150 zloty? Are you expecting how much that could be bought in USD in US market, how much can be bought in Poland with the equivalent, or what? I'm confused on the pricing.
Yes 1150 złotych is amount of funds i thought of, but dont worry about that, i know there is price differential, so we have margin. I expecting how much that could be bought in US market.
Ok, thanks for advices and i have a question, what would be stronger: Pentium g860 + HD6570 or Pentium G2120 alone? Is the difference gonna be big? Or maybe i3 2120?
Btw, is i3 3220 much stronger than 2120? Cause there is nice sale with 3220 costing like 2120.

If it costs the same, get it. The benefit is a small increase in clock (.2ghz) and hyperthreading, (2 virtual cores). It won't be a huge step up in performance, but if it's pretty similar there's no reason not to get it.
Unless you meant i3-2120? Or Pentium G2120? Either way, the i3 3220 is better than both of them. Although I think gaming would be better on a g860+HD6570, since iirc none of those have the HD4000 (you'd need 3225 to get HD4000 graphics).

If you don't get a graphics card (I don't recommend this), then I would say to get an Ivy Bridge because its integrated graphics is better. If you're just using the CPU portion, there is a smaller difference between the older-generation Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge.
I'd get G860 (or higher, if it can be afforded) + HD 6570.

Heyo, gaming becoming pretty rough lately with my current rig... Core2 Duo E6850 2GB RAM GeForce 9600 GT ...so I've been looking to upgrade it, I have never really kept up to date with hardware stuff, thogh. So it's pretty hard for me to even get started with putting together a new system.
- What is your budget?
About 800€
- What is your resolution?
1440x900 atm, but I might upgrade that one as well at some point if I happen to have the money at hand.
- What are you using it for?
Pretty much gaming only.
- What is your upgrade cycle?
As long as I can manage it to be I guess...
- When do you plan on building it?
As soon as i get paid at the end of the month.
- Do you plan on overclocking?
Not really.
- Do you need an Operating System?
Nope.
- Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
Don't think it's necessary/possible with a budget of 800€
- Where are you buying your parts from?

Hey, I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and my budget is no more than 100-150 USD! Planning on getting from Newegg/Amazon, but if there's another trustable, well-known place, I wouldn't mind going there.
My current build: CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 255 GPU: XFX HD4670 1GB PSU: Rhino 450 Watt (?) MOBO: BIOSTAR A780L3L RAM: 2x 2GB Patriot Memory PSD32G13332 (DDR3) HDD: Seagate Barracuda LP ST32000542AS (2TB)
I want to play SCII on High to Ultra and it seems a 7750 for ~100 USD will get me at Ultra around 45 FPS. I want around 60 FPS @ 1920x1080. If I can get a GPU that runs at 60+ FPS on High for cheaper, then I wouldn't mind that. I don't plan on upgrading for at earliest, another year.
If I do plan on getting a 7750, will my PSU handle it, and should I upgrade my CPU also? Also, how will Skyrim/GW2 run on my toaster (I'm thinking of getting Elder Scrolls: Online and by the looks of it, it'll look as good as Skyrim though a little bit heavier on my desktop)?

To be honest, I don't really see a place to spend 800€ without getting a monitor. I put together the below, taking relatively more expensive options, and realized that it was still short of 800. Actually, I would recommend cutting several things below a bit and buying a monitor now. 7870 on 1440x900? Seems like a big waste.

If your old optical drive is SATA, you can reuse that and skip the one above. Likewise, if you want to use the old hard drive for storage, you can skip the one above. I'd still get the SSD and install the OS on that though. You need a new OS install anyway.
If you make some of the cuts above, there is around enough money for a monitor.

Can you post a clear picture of the label on the power supply? (key focus is power output figures, UL number)
There's not much of a CPU upgrade you can do unless you can find a Phenom II really cheap (used, can be X2, X3, or X4... preferably at a significantly higher clock speed), on that budget. The game is still not going to run that well when the action gets going, because you'll still be stuck with a subpar CPU. But certainly you can upgrade the graphics card to push up shaders settings higher (for what little that really does for graphics quality, over medium).
If 4670 works, 7750 should also run on the power supply. It still may be worth replacing, depending.

Oh, so I'm getting held back by my CPU no matter how much I spend on my GPU? What if my budget went up to $250-$400 at most (though I really DON'T want to spend that much)? I remember seeing a quad-core 4.1 Ghz but it might have been an APU and I think you need a new Mobo for that too?
I think the CPU is this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819106009
Oh, and my PSU is Rhino Panther 450W ATX 12V, Model # SP-450Y.
|
(Raidmax) Rhino Panther. That is... well... I wouldn't recommend anybody use it. I can't find a picture with high enough resolution to see the UL number and find out the OEM, but that doesn't really matter too much because anybody building a cheapy PSU to Raidmax's spec is going to have to turn out a junker. 252W claimed on +12V for a "450W" PSU btw. Oh yeah. That said, if you want to continue to roll the dice and live on the edge in fear of stuff randomly dying on you any day, you can continue to use it. A 7750 replacing a 4670 isn't going to make a difference. It's just as cheap as it has been all this time.
Per clock, the last two generations of AMD FX processors are a little worse than the Athlon II, definitely worse than Phenom II (which is Athlon II with L3 cache). That would be an upgrade, but maybe not as much as you think. Well, it's not compatible anyway. If you were getting a new motherboard and CPU to run games, you'd go socket 1155.
Like I said, you can turn up shaders and some graphics settings and get better performance in early game and in games other than SC2, by getting a new graphics card. You're not going to improve large army battle fps though, not without a CPU upgrade (unless you're really overworking the 4670 with graphics settings it clearly can't handle).

Hello! I am building my first desktop here. Have had laptops for the past 6 years or so and am making the big switch.
What is your budget?
I am spending a minimum of $1,000 and no higher than $1,300.
What is your resolution?
I'm getting a new monitor and what I've been looking it gives me around 1920 x 1080.
What are you using it for?
I will be mostly gaming with this. Will do streaming as well. But mostly I just want to be able to play some of these larger MMOs on better graphics without it lagging all the time.
What is your upgrade cycle?
2+ years. Ideally 4 though.
When do you plan on building it?
I am building it mid-December. Will be trying to buy as many parts as possible on black Friday though.
Do you plan on overclocking?
Yes
Do you need an Operating System?
Nope
Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire?
Don't think I need to.
Where are you buying your parts from?
www.newegg.com http://www.microcenter.com/ (the detroit one is within a 30 minute drive)
|
|
Why are you linking him a 190 dollar mobo? If he's keeping the 3750 on air he's not gonna be able to oc it much anyways so he could just get a basic z77 and be alright.
|
ASUS P8Z77-V LK is shit and that isn't a P8Z77-V LK that was linked. If you are buying your CPU from Microcenter than also get the motherboard from them as well since they have the $50 CPU+Mobo discount usually. Something like the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H or Asrock Z77 Extreme3 (or 4) is significantly better than a P8Z77-V LK and will be significantly less expensive if you get the $50 discount from Microcenter.
Samsung 830 128gb is under $100... though this is irrelevant since Newegg is sold out on all the SKUs except for the notebook upgrade kit which was linked (which you shouldn't buy unless you like donating to Samsung or want what is provided with the upgrade kit?). If you want a Samsung 830 then you will need to purchase it elsewhere because Newegg will not be restocking on the phased out 830. Most places are sold out though since its hard to resist for $70... It is being replaced with the cheaper Samsung 840 (which is TLC instead of MLC, the first consumer TLC SSD iirc): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147188
Corsair CX500v3 for $60 is also terrible. The Capstone 450 is significantly better for $7 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066 The Seasonic G 360 is also significantly better for $2 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151117
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB for $37 is terrible. It has ridiculous heatspreaders and paying $37 at this time of the year for 2x4gb cas9 1600MHz is ridiculous.
Unfortunately a lot of sales have come and gone. Most companies (which includes Newegg) these days no longer celebrate the traditional Black Friday. Instead, they like to celebrate the entire month of November.

Anyone have a good blackfriday deals website for laptops?

So I'm looking to build my own computer And here are the parts I have so far. If anyone could recommend any good substitutions and A good graphic card It would be very very helpful.
All of the parts below are taken from Newegg and shipped in US.
ASRock 970 EXTREME3 ATX AMD Motherboard $84.99
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory 40$
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive 80$
CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply 75$
AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ Quad-Core Desktop Processor 110$
LG CD/DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH24NS72 17$
Athena Power CA-GSB01DA Black Computer Case With Side Panel Window 23$
Total so far is about 400$ with shipping included.
I think i can bum an win 7 off a friend so its not too much of an issue.
The goal of the computer is to play games around high settings, as i don't really need it for anything else.
My price range is probably 600-700$ but honestly cheaper is better.

That's a terrible build.
Switch out the FX4100 for a Core i3.
Switch out the AMD motherboard for a B75.
Switch out the TX650 for a Rosewill Capstone 450
2x4gb 1600MHz cas9 memory is like $35, not $40.
Get a Radeon HD7850.
