Is there a way to restore my hard drive to an early date say two weeks ago? How would you return all data to a previous state without some kind of data backup? Anyway, it depends on how the files were lost. When a file is deleted, the data blocks are just tagged as not containing data any more (but the bits can still be read). It's not like the system bothers overwriting the data unless it's actually writing new data. Some data recovery utilities can look through all the blocks on the hard drive and look for unmarked data grouped together that seems to correspond to what was once a file. As long as they have not been actually overwritten since then (and not fragmented, though maybe some are smart about that), you may be able to recover them.

I deleted the folder and emptied it from the recycle bin on my desktop, most likely not overwritten unless im missing something. What utility do you suggest I use?

There's a lot of software for that purpose, and I have no idea which is best. I'm sure there's more than is listed here under file recovery: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_data_recovery_software

I have a monitor/keyboard/mouse, and a lot of my shopping is from Amazon for Amazon prime. I don't need much storage - a 320GB hard drive would probably be enough but I think I have a good deal on the 60$ one. But every dollar pretty much counts - if I can save 10+$ on a part, please let me know. Build currently: GTX 650 @ 110$ on Amazon DVD Drive 20$ Fractal Design Core 1000 40$ Antec earthwatts 380D @ 45$ G2120 @ 80$ G.Skill 8GB Ram @ 33$ Asrock B75 Motherboard 55$ Western Digital 500GB Hard Drive @60$ I picked a GTX 650 because of its great SC2 performance relative to other stuff. G2120 is just because I wasn't sure if it beats a ~50-60$ Pentium G645 (2.9ghz SB iirc) for cost/performance. I figured 25% increase in price, 10% clock increase and slight IPC increase + lower power consumption makes it worth it? I think I can get a smaller PSU, but I'm not sure and this would allow me to bump up the parts a little bit without having to get a new PSU. I'd love to save money on the Case or anywhere else - so please let me know! Total atm: 443$ - I have an OS. I don't necessarily need to buy now, but I'd like to before christmas. Would black friday be a good time to shave 50-100$ off if I'm lucky?

Either way. GPU is pretty irrelevant here. What temps does your CPU get to?

Sitting there idling at your desktop doesnt do anything lol. Come back with numbers after you actually experience the drop framerate. Also if you want, post a replay, and a timestamp. And tell us what framerate you get at said timestamp. Because this way we can provide the best assistance since a lot of us have the same or similar CPU.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetailPrint.aspx?ID=15661189 going for sort of a high end sc2 streaming pc, will be playing other games. mostly gaming. i feel 128 gb is enough storage for me. i dont store movies/pictures or any other media. anyone recommend any good ram? just 8 gigs, preferably red in color so match the case & leds. i dont want to be a cheap ass. i really hate my current pc bcuz i went with a low budget build for around $700. total for the pc is roughly $1000. the monitor on there is $400.

The list is quite unviewable to the masses. You need to make it a publish wishlist. In the meantime, my rating is ??/10. You want DDR3 RAM, preferably rated at 1.5V operation. Nothing much else matters unless you're overclocking RAM for e-peen warz. Well, it might be nice to get it from a larger brand, because they tend to have more buying power in sourcing the actual ICs from the actual chip makers, so maybe greater consistency in product lines.

Spoiled cause so much text. From glancing... I think you can get a HAF912 instead of a HAF922; it's smaller (I think?), but has all the functionality that you need, and you'll save 60$. Then, get a 450W Rosewill capstone, you'll save 10-15$ I think. Nothing else freaks out to my eyes, although you can probably make do with a less expensive motherboard. Would anybody mind reviewing my build a few posts up? I edited it a bunch but now I think I'm done (minus reviews from y'all)
