Also, if you're having issues with SC2 at large army sizes, that's CPU, not GPU, and also suggests a proper upgrade rather than just a new mobo.

I saved up 500 last time but something came up and had to put it somewhere else, so I was trying to go the cheap route with little upgrades, but guess not worth it. thanks! but getting the gpu might make sense since I wanted to use it in the new pc, or will there be better ones of the same price in a few months time?

GTX 680 and 7970 are way better. 3820, shit. One of the few reasons why you build on LGA2011 is for the hex cores such as the 3930k which is 300 euros more as you mentioned so whoever suggested you to get it isn't exactly wrong lol. There is no bottleneck between the CPU and memory. Memory is the last thing you should concern yourself with since higher frequencies and tighter timings offer negligible increases in performance. GS 700, shit. You're building on LGA2011, get an 80PLUS Gold or Platinum unit. No SSD, fail. Again, you're building on LGA2011, a 128gb SSD can easily fit into this budget.

You want magic 8 ball, tarot, or seance? Your choice, we aim to please. Prices go all over the place, but the same performance tends to not end up costing more later on, barring unusual circumstances. Buying the GPU before fixing all your other problems doesn't even begin to make sense to me, but hey, your call.

That's causing all of his trouble, and will be fixed by no longer using that PC. So yes to both ![]()

These will be used exclusively for media storage (which will be accessed quite often and have the media run off of them), and I need 4-8 TB of space. I know after 3? TB HDD's have problems. Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm $119.99ea http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834 Just buy 2-4 of them (assuming your motherboard has enough free SATA ports and your PSU has enough SATA connecters) and your set.

Is it in the correct spot? Did you forget to plug in the 4+4-pin/24-pin connecter to the Motherboard? Also Computer specs please.
