Dont have time to read through this entire thread, but if this has not already been suggested, try lowering your graphics settings and just make sure all of your video drivers are up to date.

After patch 9, this was happening to me almost every other game, and I couldnt really figure it out because my net was working just fine and the game was running perfectly on max settings up until the 5-10 second freeze followed by the "dropped" message.

Blizzard may have done something on their end, but immediately after I lowered my graphics from highest to medium I fired off 20-25 straight games without a single problem. The problem is definitely Blizzard/program side, and honestly I never would have figured it out if on the 30th or so time it happend the screen hadnt started flickering, offering a clue.

I think I figured out the problem, I decided to close skype (cause I used it in 2v2), and it worked! I'm not lagging or dropping at all anymore. So if you use skype try exiting it. If not try exiting steam or any other applications you have running.

it worked fine for me one time, then today it started dropping me again, happened 2 times in 3 games... has any1 reported this on the blizz forums, i would gladly do it if i could post there...

i have had this problem too. my conn and pc are really good. vista 64 bit.

usually the game lags.. then i get dropped..then it crashes with the error report. i "lag" in no other games and my internet seems fine. i think it's a problem not related to my internet.

this just happened to me again

the error report says something about ACCESS_VIOLATION and memory could not be read. i have 6gb of ram.

this game is bugged.

btw, i didn't have this problem until patch 10

are we all nvidia people that have this problem? or are there ati ppl also?
i have a nvidia gtx 260

6gb ram
vista 64 bit
my internet and pc are totally fine besides starcraft 2
not any issue with router, firewall, or any other programs running

I am constantly getting dropped out of games that show no lag what so ever (SCII Beta). The game just freezes but I can still move around and click buildings/units. I can even issue commands (off course the game is frozen so nothing really happens) but after a couple of seconds, I get droped and my only options are Surrender, Return to Game or Quit.

No matter what I click on this screen, the entire application freezes and I have to end the task from device manager.

I have tried everything listed on this page:

...you do know that access violation errors have nothing to do with the amount of ram you have, right?

It's probably a game bug, and null pointers are trolling us.

i went from 197.45 to 196.21 drivers....and the very first game i tried lagged out and crashed. so that didn't fix it.

the weird thing is, why does it seem like it's getting worse? this is happening to all my games today.

My connection briefly shuts off once in a while...I'm thinking it's my network adapter or Win 7...It never happened to me when I was using XP and ever since I got Win7 my internet connection just stalls for 2-3 seconds while I play BW and SC2...
in BW I don't get dropped...I come back to game in time..but with sc2b....brief interference in internet connection results in a drop

This is problem is really annoying. I get the you've been dropped followed by a crash to desktop in like 85%+ of my games, even vs the ai. I have no problem with any other games installed on my system and my internet connection is rock solid in other games. With pings/traceroutes I get low ms and no dropped packages. I'm just not gonna try playing the beta anymore more until this is patched because it's just so god damn frustrating being on edge every single game waiting for the you've been dropped message because it most certainly will. I've opened router ports, tried different network card setting, drivers, ingame setting you name it and nothing helps.
