I remember that getting into top10 in 2v2 ladder was a matter of one weekend if you were good (I mean good enough to get 25-0 streaks and such).
Blizzard stopped the 2v2 AT competition after season 2 or 3. For season 1 it took 130 games for my team to qualify.
To get top 100 1v1 for this season it took me 240 games with a 63% overall winning percentage. I'd imagine it would take about 140 games if you could win 80% of them, but that is pro-level.

For those who are interested, the ladder is resetting right now. Gl to everyone fighting!

So how's everyone doing right now? Do u guys want to post ur names and wins?

I'm actually considering not playing ladder because I'm so used to VCK latency...
I can't stand this.. and I was rank 1 for most of last season /cry
2-0..

I doubt there will be any major tournaments or multigaming organizations interested in WC3 after the release of SC2, maybe in the same way as foreign SC now but that hardly can be considered professional as the players earn close to nothing.

SC2 is not the ultimate game and it will not replace anything except it's pre SC1. Even SC1 will live in korea for a long time still.
Wc3 is a completetly different game and wc3 is atm bigger then ever.

Ixion, I know you love WC3 but there's NO WAY WC3 is "bigger than ever". Still big? Yeah. SC2 will hurt international WC3 a lot, just like WC3 hurt international SC a lot.. Maybe WC3 will still remain big in China, like SC did in Korea, but globally? I doubt it..

War3 is completely dead. Bigger than ever? lol? There's what, a few annual tournaments and the retarded Zotac cup? War3 died in 2005, and it's been lingering around ever since. SC2 will kill it, the only reason people play it because there is not a better modern RTS, and of course DOTA. There's usually less than 2000 games across all realms on Bnet, with an average of 80,000 users on War3. What are the other 78k players doing? DOTA..There will probably be less people on War3 than even SC:BW after SC2 is released.
The game is dead, I love War3 a lot but you are being borderline delusional my friend.
You are Starshaped right?
Anyways back on topic, I don't think any top 100 azeroth/lordaeron player is going to even be able to break the top 20 of the invitational ladder, it's going to be sick how many old pros are going to be playing, and unlike SC:BW being a modern player doesn't give you an edge in Warcraft III, the games are 10x softer and the metagame has marginally evolved.

Heh it's kind of funny that you completely accurately corrected ixion and then incorrectly implied that all the realms are on the same invitation ladder. There will be 3 separate invitational ladders as there was last season.

I didn't imply there wasn't 3, if anything I was implying they would be playing on the US invitational. And when I say sick old pros, I'm referring to players that have played on east/west. Most of the "sick" old pros on Europe/Asia haven't gone anywhere... But I appreciate you trying to derail the thread for no reason on silly inferences.

WCR is a dead site and Wc3 is a living game bigger then ever
Not a lot of tournaments? HAHA.. There is streams every single freaking day on 3 different websites and ur saying there is no tournaments? HAHA
This site sux, only starcraft geeks. I loved Starcraft before but when I got involved with the community I started to hate it.

You are really delusional.
WC3L cutting the format, NGL cutting too. MYM releasing most players, same for most other teams. How many teams have disappeared from the WC3 scene during the last two years?

Consider this your final warning.
Instead of repeating the line "WC3 is bigger than ever" how about offering some support? From where I'm sitting, it isn't... MYM downsized their WC3 squad *dramatically* Same with MTW Same with Fnatic Same with SK
WC3L downsized, NGL downsized. In fact, I've seen nothing that indicates the WC3 scene is stronger than ever..

you dont have to beat the pros. you just have to be top 20 in the ladder.

the pros.

Top 20 in the pro ladder though, that ladder got cash prizes etc. Nothing big compared to starcraft ones but still...
The thing is that none you can meet in those ladders are bad or even average so you can't climb by constantly beating low skilled players like you do in the normal ladder.

Some of them are multi-gaming sites but still..
