This time around I have a release with someone who truly needs no introduction. Nick "Tasteless" Plott has been a fixture of the Western StarCraft community essentially since its inception. He's the voice that brought StarCraft to the West, half of the casting Archon, and he sat down with me for a long and fruitful chat. Ranging from his start in RTS, to Afreeca's lack of monetization of the foreign community, dispelling the rumors that he lost his passion for SC2, and far beyond. Join me on this epic journey through my Word With Tasteless.
Great interview! For me starcraft journey started with SC2, Tastless and Artosis (Tastosis :D) are a huge part of SC2 for me, by far the most favourite casters (Artosis come back to GSL pls) <3
This is really good stuff! Good interaction between interviewer and interviewee, nice pacing as well. And Tasteless providing some solid views there, kudos!
Ooh great summary/explanation of the SC1 and SC2 transition and troubles. Really neutral/balanced overview on it, I'm glad Tasteless took his time explaining that and being careful to not mispeak.

It sounds like you're introducing a release or a podcast episode featuring Nick "Tasteless" Plott, a prominent figure in the Western StarCraft community. The content of the discussion seems to cover a wide range of topics, including Tasteless' beginnings in real-time strategy games, the state of Afreeca's monetization of the foreign community, addressing rumors about his passion for StarCraft 2, and more.
If you have any specific questions or if there's anything specific you'd like assistance with regarding this release or podcast episode, feel free to let me know!
Listened to this while at the gym, almost forgot to do my sets because it was so interesting haha It rarely comes up in casts because Arty is usually doing the history lessons of players and the scene in general, but I have never heard of a better summarized history of SC and RTS in general than Nick explaining it here. I think it's really true when he says that RTS makers shouldn't lower the perceived skill level of their game to lure in more "casual" players, because the problem hasn't necessarily been the difficulty but the lack of teaching done to a new player. I one hundred percent agree with him on the fact that with most RTS games, the difficulty is the charm which pulls people towards it in the first place. You just lose many potential future die-hards when you immediately throw them in a pit of people who've played the same game for 20 years. Hoping this sort of philosophy can be implemented with Stormgate, because I don't think I would even want to play it if they have the whole automated macro thing.
